今年は、私の人生にとって大きな節目となった
　1月27日、裏千家に於いて十一代大樋長左衞門を襲名。
　襲名茶会を金沢で催し全国から多くの方々に参列いただいた。
　一世一代の襲名展を京都、東京、金沢などで開催。
　外遊は、米国ワシントン日本大使館での記念講演をはじめとして、ニューヨーク、ハワイ、上海などを何度も往復、
　台湾や日本各地へ出向いた工芸的建築として、あおぞら薬局などを空間プロデュース
　現代工芸美術家協会常務理事、上海工芸美術学院客員教授、日本ソムリエ協会名誉ソムリエなどの立場も賜った
　新聞、テレビ、雑誌からも数々の取材を受けることもできた。
　大樋焼350年、父が卒寿の89歳
　忘れられない一年。
　縁ある全ての方々にお礼を申し上げます。

　It was a big end this year for my life.
　I succeed to the 11th Ohi Chozaemon atUrasenke on January 27.
　I had a succession tea ceremony in Kanazawa and had many important guests from the whole country.
　An once-in-a-lifetime my succession exhibition is held at Kyoto, Tokyo and Kanazawa.
　A trip abroad, a memorial lecture at the USA Washington Japan Embassy, I went back and forth between
　New York and Shanghai couple times and went to Hawaii,Taiwan and a various part of Japan.

　Japan Arts & Crafts Society Executive Director, Visiting Professor of the Shanghai Art Academy and
　Japan Sommelier Association honor sommelier was also given.

　As arts and crafts-like architecuture, Aozora pharmacy,

　It was also possible to receive much coverage from a newspaper, a television and a magazine.

　Ohi Ware for 350 years and the father is 89 years memorial birthday.
　I never forgot this year. I tell my appreciation for all related encounter persons. Thank you all

 


　台湾にいる私に、長男、祐希から連絡があった。
　東京芸術大学大学院建築科の全体講評会で、「 吉田五十八賞 」を受賞し、平成28年度を首席で卒業することになったらしい。
　これで彼の学生生活も終わるのだそうだ。

　振り返れば、彼を褒めたことは一度もない。
　そして、これからもないだろう。父と私も同じような関係だから、この無関心さが我家なのかもしれない。

　彼は天才でもないし優れた頭脳も持ち合わせていない。
　これまで何度も挫折を繰り返し、弱いながらに努力することで跳ね返してきた。

　休学した2年間は、多治見陶芸意匠研究所で陶芸も学んだ。
　建築と工芸、彼はどのように取り組んでいくのか私にも解らない。
　ただ言える事は、ハードルは高いが新しい生き方かもしれない。

　My eldest son Yuki reported me in Taiwan.
　He will be awarded "Yoshida Isoya prize" and seem going to graduate from fiscal year 2016
　by the head at the whole comment meeting of Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and music.
　It's said that his student life ends with this, too.

　When looking back, there is never a case that he was praised.
　And I wouldn't also have that now. The handling I received from my father, too has been repeated,
　but it may be the own our family direction.

　He isn't also a genius and doesn't also have the excellent brain.
　A collapse is repeated many times up to now, though he is weak, it has been bounced by making an effort.

　Stoped from school 2 years also learned ceramics at Tajimi ceramics design research center.
　I don't know arts and crafts,how he is going to work on architecture, either.
　The hurdle is high, but the thing it can say may be a new style of approach.

 


　台湾、台南市役所を表敬訪問した。
　議会中で頼市長に面会出来なくなったが、市政府国際関係處の處長、科長などと面談して、
　金沢との美術交流などを話しあった。台南市は親日派が多く金沢市との交流を真剣に捉えている。
　金沢市民の総力で意義ある事業を続けていきたいものだ。

　Expression of courtesy visited Taiwan,
　Tainang city office. However I couldn't meet with mayor during an assembly,
　I had a meeting with chief of international relations and discussed an exchange arts with Kanazawa.

　There are a lot of good Japan understanding people in Tainang city and they seriously think
　about exchange with Kanazawa.
　I'd like to continue the significant relationship with Tainan by all Kanazawa people.

 


　東京芸術大学は、私の父が卒業、長男も東京芸大を卒業し現在も大学院生だ。
　しかし、私は違う。 この大学、私は行かなければならなかったし、行けなかった。
　現在、東京芸術大学の講師となれているのは、神のいたずらかもしれない。笑

　伊東順二氏が受け持つ「社会基盤としての芸術」はユニークなプログラムだ。
　そこで90分の授業を私が行った。全学部対象なので学生も様々だが、私の話を熱心に聞いてくれた。

　授業後は、台南芸術大学の教え子である鍾雯婷の卒業制作、合評間近の長男 祐希の作品を見ることも出来た。
　そして、成田空港に移動した。

　When hearing Tokyo National University of Fine Arts, I had a hard time.
　Because my father and eldest son both graduates from that university.
　And my son is still a graduate student.But I'm different.

　I had to go and I could not go. It was my memory. Mr. Junji Ito takes charge of is a unique program.
　So I did the class of 90 minutes as a instructor.
　It was the whole school part target, so the student was various, too, Then they heard my talk eagerly.

　Wen Ting Chung which is a pupil of Tainang university of arts and now Phd graduate student,
　I could see her work and a work for eldest son Yuki.
　Now I moved to Narita Airport.

 


　軽井沢のニューアートミュージアムは、隈研吾氏設計による迎賓館「野鳥の森山荘」を完成させた。
　そして今日は限られた方々だけの山荘開き。快晴の浅間山が眼下に広がり、
　隈研吾氏を主賓として、杨泳梁氏(中国)、小松美羽さんという話題のアーチストと共に招かれ、
　藤巻進 軽井沢町長、白石幸生会長、白石幸栄社長などと会食する機会を与えて頂いた。

　Karuizawa new art museum build the Guesthouse by Architect Kuma Kengo.
　And It was held opening lunch with only limited guests.
　Fair Asamayama spread under the eyes, and Kuma Kengo as a guest of honor also I was invited with
　famous artists Yang Yongliang(China) and Ms. Komatsu Miwa.
　It was the chance to talk together with Mayor of Karuizawa Fujimaki,
　Chair Parson Shiraishi Yukio and President Shiraishi Koei.

 


　「大樋焼歴代とゆかりの人々展」が昨日から始まった。
　大樋焼は開窯して350年。初代大樋長左衞門から11代までの歴代作品、そして10代父と11代となった二人の合作茶碗、
　また、井上馨、松永安左エ門、奥田元宋、加山又造、勅使河原宏などの当家とのゆかりの人々が残した作品などが展示されている。
　特別展示として千住博画伯の襖絵も特別公開。
　そして、門外不出としてきた茶碗の制作過程や焼成方法を展示解説した。
　これまで、父の考えに基づき全て展示企画されてきた。
　初めて父の説明を聴きながら試みたのだが、歴代を見つめ直す良い機会ともなった。

　"Ohi Kiln Generations and the related people" it has started from yesterday.

　Ohi Kiln, 350 years. Generations from Ⅰto Ⅺ, collaboration tea bowls of father and I and the related works
　from Inoue Kaoru, Matsunaga Yasuzaemon, Okuda Gensou, Kayama Matazou and Teshigahara Hiroshi,,,,,, exhibited.
　A painting on fusuma of Senju Hiroshi is also exhibited as special exhibition.
　And it was never explained the making process of the tea bowl and firing method.
　Up to now, everything has planned exhibition based on father's idea.
　I planned and saw while hearing the father's explanation for the first time,
　the good chance to look at successive generations again. Please come to visit until 3/31/2017

　トーマス・ルフ（1958年ドイツ、ツェル・アム・ハルマースバッハ生まれ）は、現代の写真表現をリードしてきた存在だ。
　そんな彼の大きな企画展が金沢21世紀美術館で9日から開催される。

　展覧会準備の合間に、我家を訪れてくれた。
　茶室で時の流れに委ねる彼の姿、その振る舞いに驚かされた。
　本当に出会えて良かった。
　偉大なアーチストを紹介頂いた和歌山の友人 樫畑直尚さん！ありがとうございます。

　Thomas Ruff (born 10 February 1958) is a German photographer who lives and works in Düsseldorf, Germany.
　His existence has led a contemporary picture expression.
　His big exhibition is held from the 9th at Kanazawa art museum in the 21st century.
　He visited my home between exhibition preparations.
　I was very excited by his form that he trust to a flow at time in the tea-ceremony room and his behavior.
　I am honored to be able to see him.
　The friend in Wakayama Mr Kashihata Naohisa who introduced a great artist ! Thank you very much.

 


　裏千家で厳しく修行させて頂いて、今の彼がある。
　彼は11歳年下の弟。間に妹がいたが亡くなってしまった。
　映画を監修したらしい。
　「感謝を忘れるな」裏腹には（頑張ってるな！）
　年が離れているから、いつも苦言を呈してしまう。
　考えれば、あまり褒めたことないかもしれない。
　でも、実は、、、我がことのように嬉しい。

　He has severely trained himself by Urasenke, and there is him now.

　私が愛するプロバスケットチーム 金沢武士団(SAMRIZ)が埼玉ブロンコスと対戦。
　完全アウェーの中で観戦だったが完勝。
　試合後にコーチ、選手にも会うことができた。私はこのチームが本当に大好きだ。

　それにしても春日部は遠かった。

　Kanazawa Samuraiz had game with Saitama broncos.
　It was the perfect away game but they had won a complete victory.
　I was possible to meet a coach and players after a game, too.

　I really love this team. Even though Kasukabe was far.

　今の時代の「私の襲名」を話す。
　久しぶりに日本文化デザイン会議のイベントに参加した。
　日本の文化を牽引してきた方々が集まっているこの会に、私も20年以上前からメンバーとして活動させていただいている。
　限られた時の中で語ることは、自らを見つめることでもあるようだ。
　以前、経験したTEDのように、、、、、、

　I speak about "my succession" in the time now.
　I participated in an event of a Japan Inter-Design Forum.
　I'm a member of this forum for more than 20 years.
　Many members have towed Japanese culture.
　To talk with limited time, seems to be also to look at oneself.
　It is just like TED experienced before, 、、、、、、.

　調停委員は，裁判官または調停官と共に調停委員会のメンバーとして，紛争の解決に当たっている方々だ。
　当事者の言い分や気持ちを十分に聴いて調停を進めるという難しい仕事をされている。
　そのような方々が集まる大会で「伝統って何だろう」語らせていただいた。

　A mediation committee member is the person who hits a solution of trouble as a member of a conciliation
　committee as well as a judge or an arbitration government service.
　They are doing person concerned's say and the difficult work to hear feeling sufficiently and advance arbitration.
　Such all people gathered at this meeting, and what is "tradition", I told.

 


　最近、外国の訪問者が増えている。
　最近会った人々だけでも取材も含めれば、イギリス、フランス、ドイツ、スイス、イタリア、エストニア、ノルウェー、
　スウェーデン、デンマーク、米国、カナダ、ブラジル、オーストラリア、中国、韓国、ベトナム、数え切れない。
　日によっては国内訪問者より多い時もあるほどだ。

　今日、ワシントンから訪れた素敵な恋人同士が謎を解いてくれた。
　彼らのサイトには、英語で書かれた口コミがある。それが各国語に細分されているそうだ。
　驚いたことに「金沢」「アート」それだけの検索で、我家がすでに上位にランクされている。

　昔から訪れてくる人々を祖父、父、そして私、そして家族で確かに心からお迎えしてきたと思う。
　しかしながら今、反省しなければならないこともある。
　そして、これからも我家のこの一つの伝統を続けてけいきたいと思う。

　A foreign visitor is increasing recently.
　When only the people who I met recently also include coverage,
　United Kingdom, France, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Estonia, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, USA, Canada, Brazil,
　Australia, China, Korea and Vietnam, can't finish counting.
　There is also time a lot more than a domestic visitor by a day.

　The nice lovers who visited from Washington DC today solved a mystery.
　Their site has the word-of-serch communication written in English.
　It's said that is subdivided into national language.
　Surprisingly "Kanazawa" "art" then my family is ranked as dominance already by only that search.

 


　「日展は何処に行くのか？」そんなシンポジウムが東京国立新美術館で行われた。

　パネラーは、日本芸術院会員 日展理事 武腰敏昭先生、日展理事 春山文典先生、
　総理大臣賞受賞された三田村有純先生、そして私。
　林田英樹 元文化庁長官、奥田小由女 日展理事長などが隣席される中、未来の工芸が様々に語られた。

　今、伝統工芸、現代工芸、海外の人々に説明ができる日本の工芸として、どのように発信していくのかが問われている。

　"Where does Nitten Japan Fine Art goes?" such symposium was performed at Tokyo national new art museum.
　A panel is a Japan Art Academy Member and Nitten director Takegoshi Toshiaki, Nitten director Haruyama Fuminori,
　Mr. Mitamura Arisumi by whom the Prime Minister prize was just awarded and I.

　While Hideki Hayashida former Agency for Cultural Affairs head and the Sayume Okuda Nitten chief director
　were doing the next seat,
　the future arts and crafts were told variously.

　It's asked and time about whether they're traditional craft arts and contemporary crafts arts,
　and then it means have to explain to overseas people about Japanese Kogei.

 


　常に進化し続けるパテシエの辻口博啓氏と共に、それぞれの人生観を語った。
　パテシエを目指す学生、私の盟友である寿司職人のもとで世界展開を考える学生などが聴講してくれた。
　優秀な国立大学の学生が目指す進路、時代とともに様変わりしているようだ。

　I had a lecture with well known Patissier Tsujiguchi Hironobu about our life.
　The student who considers to be Patissier and work with well known sushi Chef for the world development.
　A student of an excellent national university seems to be changing with the new movement.

 


　お医者様、看護師の方々、皆んなのお陰で母が４ヶ月の病院生活から退院しました。
　父も母も元気でいれることは有り難い限りです。全てに感謝しなければならないと家族で誓いました。

　It was for 4 months in hospital and finally could leave by doctors and nurses.
　Father and mother are fine, it means we have to appreciate and pry for everything

 


　間も無く89歳になる父が「第１４回茶道文化賞」を受賞した。
　茶道文化に貢献した人を顕彰する茶道裏千家からの賞なので本人の喜びも大きい。

　「2017金沢・世界工芸コンペティション」の最終審査と講評会が行われた。
　審査員は、ロナルド・ラバコ氏(インディペンデント・キュレーター)
　 チョ・へヨン氏(2015清州国際工芸ビエンナーレ展示芸術監督・キュレーター)
　唐沢昌宏氏(東京国立近代美術館 工芸課長)、大樋陶治斎(陶芸家、文化勲章受章者)、
　中川衛氏(金工作家 重要無形文化財保持者)、
　秋元雄史氏(東京藝術大学大学美術館館長、金沢21世紀美術館館長)の6名。

　応募点数５６７点(国内４６２点、国外１０５点)の中から事前の一次審査、昨日の二次審査で１２８点が通過、
　そして、大賞、優秀賞、各審査員特別賞、実に狭き8点が選ばれた。

　私が司会を務めさせていただいた講評会は、国内外の審査員から様々な意見があり、
　また、受賞者からのコメントもあり、意義ある場となった。

　1989年から金沢から世界へ発信する工芸コンペや工芸会議を実行員として参画してきたが、
　これからは、世界、アジア、日本の工芸の拠点が金沢となるよう皆で努力していかなければならない。

　二日間のセッションが始まった。
　スズキ株式会社会長 鈴木修氏の86歳と思えない簡潔明瞭なるトークで始まった。
　私もパティシエ 辻口博啓氏などと共にセッションに加わった。

　大臣、国会議員、知事、市長などの政界、財界、宗教、マスコミ、スポーツ、芸術などの文化人、実に多彩な方々が集まった。

　今回の学びと出会いは、私の未来に少なからず影響がありそうだ。

　A session for two days has started. Chairperson Suzuki Corp Mr. Osamu Suzuki was a first speaker
　which can't think 86 years old of clear opinion.

　I joined in a session with pâtissier Hironobu Tsujiguchi too.

　Politicians such as minister, congressman, a governor and a mayor, the business world, religion,
　mass communication, sport and artists gathered.

　Some day it will be connected in my future from this learning and encounter.

 


　グロービスの堀義人氏が提唱する日本版のダボス会議、G1サミット。
　政財界、文化や教育関係、NPOなど多様なリーダーが集まる。
　その地域会議が浜松で明日から開催される。
　私もアドバイザリー・ボードとして参画、討論にも参加することになっている。

　Chairman of Globis Capital Partners Mr. Yoshito Hori is advocates of G1 Summit which is just like Japanese
　edition of Davos meeting.
　Various leaders gather a political and financial circle, culture, an education field and NPO.
　The area meeting will be held from tomorrow at Hamamatsu.
　I'm also one of advisory board and going to join for discussion.

　昔、在籍した金沢青年会議所(JC)。18年が過ぎた。
　今、現役メンバーと一緒に事業に取り組んでいる。

　場所は金沢城に隣接する玉泉院丸公園と茶室
　庭を散策すれば芸妓の舞が！そして忍者が特別の食材を運んでくれた
　茶室の中では「鍔甚」川村料理長の特別なる加賀料理に堪能。
　クライマックスはライトアップされた公園にオペラが流れた。
　とても幻想的なシーンでもあった。
　このVTRは特別な許可を得たもので、作曲 千住明氏、台本 黛まどか氏、
　指揮 大友直人氏で偶然に皆が親しい友人の元でアンサンブル金沢が演奏したものなのだ。

　日本文化の茶道や工芸を深く考えることも重要だが、
　全てを金沢のためだけではなく世界の人々のためにわかり易く捉える時も必要だと思っている。
　私にはこのようなイベントはそのような実験のつもりでもある。

　ゲストとして出席された八木明さん。全国から参加者の皆様、そして時には忍者となってもてなしてくれたJCメンバー。
　全ての方々に感謝申し上げます。

　I was member of The Kanazawa junior chamber (JC) before .It is already 18 years ago.
　I'm working on some important event with active members now.

　Gyokuseninmaru park and tea-ceremony room where a place neighbors Kanazawa castle

　When taking a walk through a garden, it's geisha's dance! And a ninja carried the special ingredients.
　It's satisfied in a special Kaga dish of a "tsubajin" Kawamura master chef in the tea-ceremony room.
　An opera flowed through a climax in the park lit up.
　It was also a very fantastic scene.
　This VTR Opera is the special permission. It was played by Senju Akira,
　Mayuzumi Madoka and Conductor by Otomo Naoto.
　They are all my friends.

　It's also important to consider a tea ceremony of Japanese culture and arts and crafts deeply, everything,
　as well as Kanazawa's purpose, I think it's necessary when catching clearly for people of the world.
　Such event will also be experiment for me.

　Mr. Akira Yagi who attended as a guest, some people from the whole country and the JC member
　everybody of a participant was sometimes a ninja and who entertained.
　I'll be thankful to all persons.

 


　我家の茶室を年に一回だけ開放するのがこのイベント。
　工芸を支援するギャラリーオーナー本山陽子さんが企画。
　尊敬する日本陶芸界の騎手 八木明さん。
　そしてガラス作家として期待されている小田橋昌代さん。
　3人の出会いに、樹齢500年の松も喜んでいます

　It's this event that only once a year opens a tea-ceremony room in my house.
　Reliable gallery owner Ms. Yoko Motoyama plans this exhibition.
　Respected Japanese ceramic Artist Mr. Akira Yagi.
　And Odahahi Masayo is expected as a glass artist.
　The 500 years old pine tree in the garden is also glad about an encounter of 3 people.

　幸運にも宮司であられる千家尊祐様にもお会いできた

　早朝に米子と出雲を往復
　友人の勝部郁子さんのお陰で得難い時となった。感謝申し上げます

　It was small rain and I was entered the inside of Takisha Romon Gate.

　Later outside took the place of positive light with cloud.
　Happily I could meet with chief priest of this shrine Senge TakamasaI could meet also.

　I went back and forth between Yonago and Izumo early in the morning.
It was rare time by friend Ms. Ikuko Katsube's guided, I'll be thankful.

　彼は東京藝術大学建築学科の大学院生。
　多治見陶芸意匠研究所で陶芸も学んだ。

　建築と陶芸。言わば二刀流。

　優秀な作家との三人展。参加させていただいたことに感謝しなければならない。
　彼には、コンペ以外の初めての経験。
　謙虚さを忘れないでほしい。

　He's a graduate student of Tokyo University of Fine Art school of architecture.
　He also learned ceramics was at Tajimi ceramics design research center.

　Architecture and ceramics. So-called two-sword style.

　This exhibition is with 2 other excellent artists . He has to be apprehended that he could participate.

　The first experience which is besides the competition for him. I want to tell him that not to forget modesty.

　京都・艸堂で行われた時計ブランド・フランクミュラーのイベントに招かれた。
　そして、そのオーナーであるフランクミュラー氏と私の友人は大変に懇意な間柄。
　昼から夜遅くまで、シャンパーニューで語り合った。
　皆で夢を実現させたい。遠くない未来で必ず！

　I was invited to the clock brand event of Frank Mueller at Kyoto Soudo.
　And the owner Mr. Frank Mueller and my friend are keeping tight relationships .
　We talked with champagne from noon to late evening.
　I'd like to make some dreams come true together.
　I will be sure in the future which isn't far!

　He's the superstar born in Brazil.
　And he joined together just after the visit to Japan with my friend Paul Noritaka Tange.
　My work is collected in his private museum.
　I am happy to have such a wonderful friend to connect with same heart.

 


　今日、叔父の葬儀がある。残念だが参列できない。

　叔父は父より21歳も年下の弟で、私の兄のような存在だった。
　金沢大学付属中学から東京・日大鶴ヶ丘高校へ進学、後に歯科医師となった。

　私も高校から金沢を離れ、東京・玉川学園に進学。叔父の代々木にある家の側に住んだ。
　親元を早く離れた共通感からなのか、叔父は私を大切にしてくれた。
　寂しく辛い時、叔父の優しさに何度も助けられた。

　一か月前、叔父は最後の力で生まれ故郷の金沢、そして我家を訪れた。
　別れ際、叔父も父も私も、涙が止まらなかった。

　帰った翌日から入院、そして、わずかの日を過ごしながら逝去した。

　叔父は最後まで病と戦った。
　叔父！お疲れ様！そして、これからもよろしく！

　Today, tomorrow, it is uncle's funeral.
　It's regrettable, but I can't be attend.

　My uncle was 21 years younger than my father and was existence like my elder brother.

　After going to Tokyo and Nihon University Tsurugaoka high school from
　Kanazawa University accessory junior high school, then became a dental doctor.

　I left Kanazawa for Tamagawagakuen high school in Tokyo too. I lived on near the uncle house in Yoyogi.

　We shared from the common sense to live away from the early age so my uncle made me important.
　When being deserted and spicy, it was helped by the gentleness of my uncle many times.

　One month ago, my uncle visited Kanazawa in a birthplace and my home by his last power.
　my uncle, my father and me our tear didn't stop at the time of separation.

　Uncle was hospitalized from the next day when he returned and, he has died while spending a little day.
　My uncle fought against a disease until the end.

　Good-bye! And thank you all.
　Also give my best regards now!

 


　金沢の有名料亭「つる幸」
　主人である河田三朗氏は加賀料理の達人で、書画骨董にも精通された大茶人だ。
　活躍する料理人でこの主人から学んだ人も多い。

　茶事に招かれた。
　茶席には、数々の名品と大樋焼歴代長左衞門の作品。

　85歳の主人が、89歳になろうとする父と襲名したばかりの私に言われた。
　「茶でお祝いをお告げしたかったのです」

　静かで決して多くを語らない。
　そんな人格者との有り難い運命の出逢いを感じた瞬間だった。

　Famous Japanese-style restaurant in Kanazawa "Tsurukou"i owned by Mr. Saburo Kawada.
　He is a master of Kaga style food and is a great master of Japanese tea with deep understanding of arts.
　There are a lot of people who learned by him.

　It was invited by this master to for Japanese tea ceremony.
　The work which are many masterpieces and Ohi generations.
　It means that successive generations Cozaemon in a tea-ceremony room.

　He is 85-year-old man and said to my father who tries to be 89 years old and me who has just succeeded.
　"I wanted to tell you of a celebration for tea."

　It was quiet and was the moment an encounter of destiny which I felt from him with not to talk much.

　ほとんどが母国でそれぞれに活動している
　それだけ私も歳を重ねた証なのかもしれない

　Strachan Kate came from USA to my studio.
　Then she entered Izumi ceramics academy in Yokohama after study in 2 years.
　And today, it was her graduation exhibition.
　It must be hard to stay in Japan for 4 years.
　Congratulation Kate !

　Many students who learned from foreign countries at my studio in Kanazawa.
　Everyone is making pots in each country.
　It may be the proof that I repeated the year,also.

 


　久しぶりに東京。

　6日間の個展が終わった。
　友人、知人、コレクターの方々が、地元金沢だげではなく、ロサンゼルス、東京などからも来場してくれた。
　一世一代の地元襲名展。成功裏に終わったと思う。有難いことだ。全ての縁に感謝している。

　秋元雄史氏（ 東京藝術大学美術館館長・特任教授、金沢21世紀美術館館長）をお迎えして、今回の襲名展、
　そして、私のこれまでの生き様について話しあった。

　現代美術の最先端を知る美術評論家でもあり、私が恩師として敬愛する秋元雄史氏。
　氏との会話を大勢の方々に聞いていただけたのは、私にも大切な時間となった。

　Mr Akimoto Yuji (Tokyo university of art museum director and Director of Kanazawa 21st century museum of
　contemporary art) and I discussed about the way of my life and my this succession exhibition.

　Mr. Akimoto is also one of the top art critic who runs through a tip of contemporary art,
　and love and respect as a teacher.
　Many persons could attend this conversation, and I was lucky to share the time with him.

　安倍昭恵内閣総理大臣夫人、コシノジュンコ氏、マンリオ・カデロ サンマリノ共和国大使などが来賓として、
　新渡戸稲造のシンポジウムが催された。私も実行委員として参加させて頂いた。

　このような方々が集まったことには大きな理由がある。

　実は、友人、新渡戸常憲氏が困っている。彼は8代目新渡戸家当主。
　そして、新渡戸稲造をはじめとした新渡戸家の足跡を伝える十和田市立新渡戸記念館の館長。

　ところが近年、十和田市は一方的に廃館してしまったのだ。数々の蔵書、遺品はどうなるのだろうか？

　私は政治的なことには関与出来ない。しかし、何とか新渡戸記念館と新渡戸家を救えないだろうか？

　新渡戸稲造の唱えた「武士道」が泣いている。
　紛争を「武士道」で解決できれば、画期的なこととなるのだが、、、、、、
　皆で友人を助けたい！！！

　Mrs.Abe Akie (wife of Prime Minister Abe Shinzo) . Ms. KOSHINOJUNKO and some foreign ambassador of Republic of
　San Marino Manlio Cadelo had a speech as a special guest, and I participated as an execution commissioner.

　There is a reason that such persons gathered.

　Well, my friend Mr. Tsunenori Nitobe is in trouble.

　He's 8 generation Nitobe family head. And he was a director in Towada municipal Nitobe memorial museum.

　But, Towada-shi has made the abandoned museum by one-sided in recent years.

　I do not know about politics. However I am very much worry,
　what happens to many collections of books and momentos?
　Can't Nitobe memorial hall and Nitobe family be rescued somehow?

　The "Japanese chivalry Bushido" Inazo Nitobe raised is crying.
　When trouble can be settled by "Japanese chivalry", it'll be remarkable, but 、、、、、、.
　I'd like to help my friend with everyone!

　その踊り、喜びなのか悲しみなのか、私にはわからない

　富山オーバードホールでのオペラ公演に辰巳真理恵さんが出演した。
　俳優 辰巳琢郎氏の長女でもある彼女を私は子供の時から知っている。
　辰巳真由美夫人の誕生日と重なり、辰巳家家族が前日から富山に集結。
　私も家族の一員らしきものなのでジョイント。

　娘は父親に対しては特に愛情深い存在なのだ。
　オペラ歌手として進化していく娘
　隣に座る辰巳琢郎氏の眼中には、彼女だけしか映っていない。
　私も娘がいる。全く同じだ

　Ms. Marie Tatsumi appeared on an opera performance in Toyama Aubade Hall.
　She is Ctor Takurou Tatsumi's eldest daughter. And I know An actor I know her from child's time.
　Also it was Mrs. Mayumi Tatsumi's birthday and his family gathers at Toyama from the previous day.
　I seem to be the family's member, so I am joined.

　Daughter is the existence affectionate in particular to a father.
　His daughter evolving as an opera singer
　Mr. Takurou Tatsumi who sits down on the next, and probably he as watching only his daughter in his eyes.
　I have a daughter, too. It is absolutely similar.

　朝、北陸新幹線、東北新幹線と乗り継ぎ、快適な旅。
　東北は広範囲、それでも多くの方々が集まり、旧友に会うこともできた。

　久しぶりの投稿でした。

　I was making works at my studio, every day sleeping hours are several hours.
　I was invited to Sendai for Urasenke Tohoku Block 45th anniversary memorial lecture.
　The travel which makes connetions with the Hokuriku Shinkansen and Tohoku Shinkansen and
　is comfortable in the morning.
　Tohoku area is located wide range but still many persons gathered, could meet some old friends also.

　"Thank you very much for all Tohoku people.
　And please permit quick returning to Kanazawa.
　It was contribution after a long time.

　My father is seeing televising from 15:00. And some of mass communication are making interview at the same time.

　He is meeting His Majesty the Emperor many times from the Crown Prince age. My father made had short
　comment it is "by His Majesty the Emperor's word, all"

　私は58歳。だからか、最近、物を無くすことが多い。
　約、半月前、大阪で友人と朝方まで飲んだのだ。その時に財布を失くしてしまったようなのだ。
　その財布が警察に届けられた。
　拾った人。落とした人を探す警察。
　皆に良心がある日本。素晴らしい国だ。
　日本人として生まれて良かった。
　ありがとうとう ！

　I'm 58 years old. A thing is often lost recently.
　About half month ago in Osaka, my friend and I drank early in the morning,
　my purse has been lost then.
　The purse was taken to the police.
　The person who picked it up. The police which looked for the person who has dropped it.
　Japan where everyone is conscientious. A wonderful country.
　I am proud of I might be born as Japanese.

　親交のあった元横綱・千代の富士、九重親方が亡くなった。現役時代には陶芸制作で精神修養した時もある。
　我家にも何度も訪ねられている。
　裏千家坐忘斎御家元とは大変に懇意にされていて、毎年の初釜でもお会いしてきた。
　幕内優勝３１回、国民栄誉賞を受賞した昭和の大横綱・千代の富士！
　そんなヒーローの命はこの世限りではない。
　皆の心に生きていく。そう信じたい。

　Great grand champion sumo wrestler Chiyonofuji died and he was my friend also.
　When he was doing spirit training by ceramics production in the active age,
　He also visited many times in my home.

　He was very much cross friend of Urasenke Grand Tea Master zabousai too,
　and even yearly I have met him at new year tea ceremony.

　Chiyonofuji! Great grand champion sumo wrestler and who won 31 times of championship and
　received People's Honor Award!
　He is hero and his life isn't this world limit.
　He is living in all people heart. I'd like to believe it so.

　40 schoolchildren in Kanazawa city came to my studio by an event called town Expo.
　It is the theme of the the “Ohi Ware” which will make the object for the person who like the most,
　A lot of works have been finished.

　日本介護ベンチャー協会の招きで講演。
　介護に関わる人々が集まり、時にアートが人を救うことを話させて頂いた。

　ありがとう！そう言ってもらえる仕事をしているからなのか、集まった人達の眼は優しかった。

　I had a lecture by an invitation of a Japanese nursing venture society.
　The people of nursing gathered and I spoke about Art's sometimes rescuing a person.

　Thank you very much! They were always said that word by elder people,
　that is people's eyes were so gentle.

 


　北陸放送の番組審議会を終え外に出た。
　すると、隣のコンビニの駐車場は消防車だらけで立ち入り禁止となっていた。
　どうやらソーラー板からの充電器が爆発して炎上したらしい。

　平穏な本多の森、大惨事にならなくて良かった！

　I have finished a program council of Hokuriku Broadcast and have gone outside.

　Then a parking lot of the next convenience store became restricted full of fire truck.
　A charger from a solar board is probably explosive, and it seem to have gone up in flames.

　It didn't have to be calm Honda's forest and catastrophe!

 


　友人である辰巳琢郎さんが企画するテレビ番組 葡萄酒浪漫(ワイン浪漫)の収録があった。

　宮田先生が代表を務めた九つの音色。懐かしい仲間にも再会できた。

　工芸家、東京藝術大学学長、そしてついに文化庁長官。
　常に一生懸命の人生だからだ。

　Mr. Ryouhei Miyata's Agency for Cultural Affairs chief assumption celebration party was held in Tokyo,
　and father Ohi Toyasai also had make a guest greet.

　Nine Harmony by which Mr. Miyata served as a representative.
　We could meet old friends again.
　Craft Artist and Tokyo University of Arts president, and, at last,
　the Agency for Cultural Affairs chief. Because we know he always spending a strenuous life.

 


　金沢武士団を経営する友人達は、新潟アルビレックスやBJリーグの社長を歴任した中野秀光氏を金沢武士団の社長に迎え記者会見を行った。
　スポーツジャーナリストの二宮清純氏も同席され、これからのサポートを誓ってくれた。
　そして、浅野弘治会長、藤弥昌宏副社長、岩本秀成副社長などの新人事のフロントとして地域密着型の運営を目指していくことになった。

　このような夢を持つ人々から、共有する仲間として私を迎えて頂いていることはとても誇りに感じている。
　必死にこれから運営していく仲間達に、微力であっても私として出来る限りのサポートを模索していくつもりだ。

　My Kanazawa's companies received for new president Mr. Hidemitsu Nakano who used to be president
　of Niigata Albirex and BJ league into a president with appeared to a press conference.
　A sports journalist Seizyun Ninomiya also attended and promised future support.
　And it is going to be aiming at operation of the area close adherence type by new management team,

　I am very much proud of receiveing me as their company to be dream shared with them.

　久しぶりにアートから離れた本を読んだ。
　石原慎太郎氏が書いた本が面白い。
　通常、人は反旗をひるがした人間と付き合うことはない。
　その人が亡くなって、時間が経つに連れて敬愛した人物だったことに気づいたのだ。

　石原慎太郎氏は、昔からこの大政治家に戦いを挑んではきたが、今、尊敬の念で田中角栄に成り代わって執筆いている。

　人と人は、時には互いの合意もあれば、大きな相違となる場合もある。影響力をもつ人になればなるほど、
　大きな集団と集団の利権争いに発展してしまい、社会はそれに巻き込まれてしまう。

　石原慎太郎氏は言う
　感性の所産である芸術はしばしば天才を生み出すが、政治という感性の不毛な世界で彼のような未曾有の業績を残した人はいない。

　禅の思想では、相手の立場になれば見え方は全く違うと説く。
　しかし、解っていても容易ではないのが人の世界。様々に極めてきた石原慎太郎氏だから、
　敵対したその未曾有の政治家を評価し始めたのかもしれない。

　私のような凡人には、第三者を気にはしてしまうし、嫌いな人に近づくことすら出来ないのだが、、、

　I read the book away from the art after a long time.
　The book Mr. Shintaro Ishihara wrote is interesting.

　When it's giblets person, Ii happens to develop into a rights quarrel of big group and group,
　and society involves influence in that.

　Mr. Shintaro Ishihara says. The art which is a make of the sensitivity often makes a genius,
　but there isn't a person who left unprecedented achievement like him in the world with the sterile sensitivity
　as the politics.

　It explains by thought of Zen, we should concern that how to be seen from different side parson.
　But it's the world that it isn't easy even if it's understood.
　Because Mr. Shintaro Ishihara who has reached variously,
　it may be the one which has begun to estimate the unprecedented politician who opposes.

　An ordinary person and third person, I am always worry from something.

　昨日と今日、作家 村松友視さんと書家 紫舟さんが我家を訪れられた。
　父 陶冶斎、私 十一代長左衞門、そして長男 祐希の三代を取材するためだ。
　我々三人の制作風景、父が案内する大樋美術館、茶室での五人の対談、そして紫舟さんの作陶挑戦など多くのシーンが登場する。
　BS朝日で11月頃に放映予定。

　Yesterday, today and author Mr. Tomomi Muramatsu and calligrapher Shishuu could visit our home.
　It was document for 3 generations of father Toyasai and I
　Chozaemon XI and eldest son Yuki and Shishuu's pottery making challenge.

　Much Sean appears on a talk of each demonstrations, father guided at Ohi Museum,
　five people discussed at the the tea-ceremony room.

　It's expected to televise in around November by the BS morning sun.

 


　2015-2016年度の区切りの打ち上げパーティが盛大に行われた。
　金沢武士団（Kanazawa Samuraiz)バスケットボールチームの看板選手も駆けつけてくれた。
　次年度は私は会長エレクトという立場で会を支えさせていただく。

　来年の今頃は30周年を迎え、私が会長となる予定となっている。
　この会は、それぞれの夫人も皆なが仲が良く、若いメンバーが多い。
　私はこの素晴らしいロータリークラブを誇りに思っている。

　The year of 2015-2016 finale party was performed.
　The star player of Kanazawa samuraiz basketball team attended also.
　I will be the chairperson erection in the next term.

　Next year, It will be the 30th anniversary and I expected to become a chairperson.
　This club, everyone is young and respective wives are very friendly for this meeting.
　I am proud of this wonderful Rotary Club.

 


　朝8時 出雲大社相模分祠 草山諒矩氏の表敬を受け、今日は縁起良い東京日帰りとなった。

　東京では、現代工芸美術家協会の理事会が開催され、常務理事だった宮田亮平先生が文化庁長官に就任されたことにより、
　その代役として私が常務理事となった。

　公募展として日本の現代工芸をリードしてきたこの会を微力な私ではありますが、
　時代に即応した最高のアート集団として再生できるよう粉骨砕身で行動していくつもりです。
　どうか御理解、御支援を賜りますようお願い申し上げます。

　8:00 AM. Izumo-taisha Sagami Brunch Shrine Mr. Kusayama Masanori visited me and it was refreshing feeling
　by a topic of gods.
　And I go to Tokyo by Hokuriku area Shinkansen.

　Today is Tokyo day trip.
　A board meeting of Japan Contemorary Arts and Crafts Association was held,
　and I became a executive director by Mr. Ryouhei Miyata's who was a executive
　director assuming Commissioner of the Agency for Cultural Affairs.

　This association which has led arts and crafts in Japan today.
　However I have a poor ability, but I will try the best as much as possible. Please support and understand for me.

　400名以上が集まった。

　東京日本橋高島屋襲名展の設営がやっと終わった。明日の個展初日は私の誕生日だ。

　有難い事が重なった。

　My construction of Tokyo Nipponbashi Takashimaya succession exhibition has ended finally.

　The exhibition first day, tomorrow is my birthday. A thankful thing was piled.

 


　6月4日、タイからの政府関係者、大学教授と工芸家。
　6月6日、中国・習合社からのデザイナー、工芸家。
　最近、続々と海外からの客人が訪れ、質疑応答を繰り返している。
　このような人々を大切にしなければならないと、心からもてなしているつもりだ。

　昼、上海から帰国。
　夜、香林坊ロータリークラブの方々が私の襲名を祝ってくれた。

　ロータリークラブと私。今まで近くて遠いものだった。それを身近にしてくれた仲間達に感謝感激の夜だった。

　実に有難いことだ。これも想い出の一コマとなるだろう。
　本当にありがとうございました。

　I return home from Shanghai at noon.
　The member of Kanazawa Korinbo Rotary Club celebrated my succession in the evening.

　Rotary Club and I. It was far even around here so far.
　Then It was night of thankful impression for Tomodachi and others who made that closer.

　I'm very thankful. This would be also one frame of my memory.

　世界各国からの学者や芸術家が集まり、無形文化財遺産、工芸などについて話しあった。
　昨日、同じく客員教授に就任した森野彰人 京都市立芸術大学教授、原智 金沢市立美術工芸大学教授、
　そんな気心知れた仲間と共に意見発表を行った。

　Scholars from all the countries and artists gathered,
　and an intangible cultural asset legacy and arts and crafts were discussed.

　The forum was performed with the Akito Morino Kyoto City Art University professor and
　Satoru Hara Kanazawa of arts and crafts College Professor who assumed a visiting professor likewise yesterday,
　They are my company to whom such intimacy was known.

 


　上海工芸美術学院に招かれ客員教授に就任した。
　それにしても朝から晩まで、パネルや講演で疲れ果てたのだった。

　I was invited to Shanghai Academy of Arts and Crafts Academy I became a visiting professor.
　However it was prostrate with a panel and a lecture from a morning to the evening.

　個展が終わり、京都から関西空港に移動。
　関西空港から上海に向かう。

　明日は、在日本国上海総領事館でのアポイント、２日、３日は上海美術工芸学院での講演、
　国際フォーラムでのパネラーとして招かれている。
　また、その大学で客員教授となることになっている。

　My exhibition ends and moves from Kyoto to Kansai Airport.
　I go to Shanghai from Kansai Airport.

　初めての襲名個展が終わった。
　京都は日本文化の根源であり、数々の家元、活躍する芸術家が住む街だ。

　言い換えれば、常に最高の目利きが存在する。
　故にほとんどの作家は、この街を苦手にする。
　そんな重圧の中、数え切れない数寄者、そして友人に支えられた自分は幸せ者だと思う。
　関係した全ての方々に御礼申し上げます。

　裏千家大宗匠にお立ち寄り頂いた。ひとつひとつ手に取られながら語って頂いた。
　その御言葉を一生忘れない。実に有難い時間でもあった。

　My first succession exhibition has ended.

　Kyoto is a root of Japanese culture and much representative family of a school and the artist who live
　with high activities in this town.

　In other words, the best connoisseur always exists.
　Therefore most artists said that make this town a weak point.

　I had a big pressure but I was supported by my friend. I guess think I am happy person.
　I thank all related persons.

　Urasenke great master Hounsai visited also.
　He told me each word during taking in the hand one by one.
　The word I was told, I never forgot for life. It was also very thankful time.

 


　石原伸晃 経済財政政策担当大臣。
　彼とは学生時代からの友人だ。
　衆議院議員となり、今は大臣だ。新聞、テレビなどで知る活躍は、時に友人とは言えなくなることもありがちだが、彼は違う。

　過密スケジューの石川県視察の中、多くの秘書官とSPを引き連れて、我家にも訪れてくれた。

　そんなわけで、京都高島屋の個展から金沢に半日だけ戻ったけど、石原大臣の熱い友情に感謝！

　Nobuteru Ishihara The Minister of State for Economic and Fiscal Policy.
　He's my friend from school days. He become a member of the House of Representatives and is a minister now.
　The achievement we know by newspapers and televisions can't be often called friend anymore, but he's different.
　He took many secretaries with SP during Ishikawa-prefecture inspection of overcrowded schedule
　and also visited in my home.

　Only half day has returned to Kanazawa from an exhibition of Kyoto Takashimaya by such reason,
　but I'm thankful for warm friendship of Ishihara minister!

　彼は有名な琵琶奏者。そして唐時代の楽器や曲を再現させる音楽プロデューサーだ。
　北京で彼を訪ねた5年ほど前から交流が続いている。
　家族で個展に来てくれた。

　The biwa lute player for whom he's famous in China, and a musical instrument in the Tang age and the musical
　producer who makes a song reappear.
　An exchange continues for about 5 years since I visited his house in Beijing.
　Today he came to my exhibition with the family.

　襲名してからの初個展。やっと設営が終わった。
　不安だけど明日から始まる

　After I succeed, the first exhibition. All preparation has ended finally.
　I'm worried, but it'll start from tomorrow.

 


　20年程前、プレストン サンダース、クリストファー ケリーはロチェスター工科大学で、私の教授でもあるリチャード ハーシュ、
　そして私にも学んだ。
　プレストンは金沢の大樋工房で弟子となり、後にボストン ブリッジウォーター大学教授、
　クリスはアトランタ ピトモント大学教授となった。

　以後、彼らは学生を連れてやって来るようになった。
　リチャード ハーシュ教授から始まる恩師の関係が世界に広がっている。

　About 20 years ago, Preston Saunders and Christopher Kelly learned by Richard Hirsch who is also my professor
　and me at Rochester Institute of Technology.
　After Preston was a pupil at Ohi Studio in Kanazawa, then became Boston Bridgewater professor.
　And Chris became a Atlanta Pidmont College professor.

　After that, they started to take a student and come.
　It was started by Richard Hirsch teacher's relation which spreads over the world.

 


　坐忘斎御家元並びに御宗家を迎えて、全国から多くの茶道関係者が集まった。
　石川県小松市を中心に、大会、式典、茶会が二日間にわたって開かれる。

　式典前に、坐忘斎家元、地元選出の佐々木紀 衆議院議員とのスリーショット。

　Many Urasenke tea concerned people from the whole country gathered with Urasenke Grand Tea Master Zabousai
　and his family.A convention and many tea ceremonies are held for two days centering on Komatsu-shi, Ishikawa.

　A member of the House of Representatives from this area Sasaki Hajime,
　Grand Tea Master Zabousai and I had a chance to take a photo before a ceremony.

　展覧会のオープニング、上海工芸美術職業学院視察、在上海日本国総領事館表敬訪問、
　私の上海工芸美術学院での客員教授就任も内定して、父と共に実り多い滞在だった。

　An opening of an exhibition, official visited and Shanghai Japan consulate general
　and I have received for states of Visiting Proffesor of Shanghai academy of fine arts.
　It was successful visiting with my father for 3days.

　上海礼品芸術博物館では、石川県からの20人の作家や京都などから作家の紹介とともに、日本、中国、韓国、
　その３カ国の招待作品が陳列され、盛大な式典が催された。
　上海市政府高官、在上海日本国 片山和之 総領事,在上海韓国 韓硯 総領事などの挨拶の後、父 陶冶斎も祝辞を述べた。

　20 artists works from Ishikawa Prefecture and Kyoto artists were introduced,
　there is 3 countries selected works from Japan, China and Korea, also opening ceremony was held.

　Father Ohi Toyasai had a speech
　after Shanghai city high government official and Counsel General of Shanghai Japan Katayama Kazuyuki with Korean
　Counsel General congratulated counsel general's greeting.

 


　上海礼品美術館、上海美術工芸学院に招かれ訪中して来ます。
　88歳の父も一緒です。

　I'm invited by Shanghai Gift Art Museum and Shanghai Academy of Arts and Crafts, so visit China.
　I'm with my 88-year-old father, also

 


　工房で制作しながら、かつて好んだボストンのFMラジオをライブで聞いている。
　懐かしい曲が流れればタイムスリップして、ボストンにいた頃を想い出す。

　30年以上前のボストン。私は初めての個展のために必死に制作していた。
　今、襲名展のための制作は、気がつけば夜を徹している。

　デビューする頃の自分と襲名した自分。
　状況も環境も全く違うのだが、ひたすらに制作する自分は変わらない。

　遠い昔のボストンの想い出。今の自分のためにありがとう。

　Though I am making my works in my studio, I am listening my favor live FM Radio from Boston.
　That's also that I begin to time-travel and think of the time when I was in Boston.

　Before more than 30 years. I was very hard to work for a first time exhibition.
　Now I am working for a succession exhibition,I'm staying up all night.

　Oneself at time who debuts and oneself who succeeded.
　The situation and the environment are just different, one who produces doesn't turn earnest.

　Memory in Boston in the far past. Thank you very much for friends and thank you all.

 


　毎年恒例となった金沢からこの祭りへの視察。
　金沢の有名な酒蔵である福光屋さんの創業者がこの街から金沢に出向いた歴史もあり現社長 福光松太郎氏が中心となって今回も
　細田大造金沢副市長なども同行しながら大勢で訪れる。
　南砺市側も田中幹夫市長はじめ皆さんが手厚く迎えてくれる。
　そのことで、金沢市と南砺市は、石川県と富山県でありながら交流が深まっている。

　交流会で万歳三唱を私が音頭を取ることになった。経験は積んできたつもりだがこれは初めての経験だ。
　目の前には、この街に生まれた馳浩 文部科学大臣がいる。

　慣れない中で
　「馳浩文部科学大臣ご就任」「金沢市・南砺市のさらなる発展」
　万歳！万歳！万歳！　

　すると馳大臣が
　現役の文部科学大臣として
　「11代大樋長左衞門襲名おめでとうございます」
　万歳！万歳！万歳！　
　粋な計らいに感激した

　南砺市の皆様今年もありがとうござました

　Every year, annual it became from Kanazawa an ivisiting to this festival.
　There is also history of founder in Kanazawa Fukumitsuya Sake Factory went to Kanazawa from this town,
　and current president Matsutarou Fukumitsu is taking with us including Deputy Mayor Kanazawa Hosoda Taizo.
　Mayor of Nanto City Tanaka Mikio and everyone is warmly waiting for us. So that our exchange deeper and deeper.

　By dinner session, I was asked to take the lead cheer ceremony, but this is first experience.
　There is born in this town Minister Hase Hiroshi is sitting front of me.

　I said "BANZAI for becoming Minister Hase Hiroshi” and "further development in Kanazawa-shi and minamitoshi"
　Cheer! Cheer! Cheer!

　And then Minister Hase Hiroshi had a speach
　"I congratulate 11 generations of Oi chouzaemon succession."
　Cheer! Cheer! Cheer!
　It was welcomed in smart arrangement.

　今年も金沢にクラッシク音楽の祭典ラフォルジュルネのシーズンがやってきた。
　多くの音楽会が催されているのだが、彼女の歌を聴きに行った。

　辰巳？同じ姓の俳優がいるけど？
　実は俳優 辰巳琢郎氏の長女が辰巳真理恵さんでオペラ歌手なのだ。
　彼は無二の親友だから子供の頃から存じ上げている。
　ゆえに彼女は私を「金沢の父」と呼ぶ。常に「兄」と呼ぶように申し上げているのだが、、、、、、

　旧知の作曲家 千住明氏夫妻も駆けつけてくれたのだが、彼女にとっては大変な緊張ともなったかもしれない。
　しかし、確実に進化を遂げている。

　辰巳琢郎、そして夫人。見守る彼らの視線は愛情そのものだ。
　共演したチェコのオペラ歌手 ヤーナ・ボルゴヴァさんも絶賛だった。
　「東京の娘」頑張れ！

　A season of classic music festival La Folle Journee de Kanazawa came to this year.
　Many concerts are held, I went to listen to her song.

　Tatsumi? Is there an actor of the same last name?
　Well, an actor Mr. Takurou Tatsumi's eldest daughter is an opera singer under Mr. Marie Tatsumi.
　Because he's the one of my best friend, I know her from child's time.
　Therefore she calls me "the fatherhood of Kanazawa". I'm always telling her called " Elder brother" but 、、、、、、.

　Composer Senju Akira and his wife also atennded, maybe serious tension was involved for her.

　Takurou Tatsumi and wife. Affection is itself for their watched eyes.
　The Czechoslovak opera singer Jana Borkova who costarred and also acclamation.
　"Daughter in Tokyo" exert yourself!

　京都市美術館、京都国立近代美術館などの学芸課長、フリーランスキュレーターなどが推薦人となって30人の工芸家の展覧会が開催される。
　私も嬉しい事にその一人に選ばれた。。

　全国からのほとんどの出品作家が集まってのオープニング、そして会食があった。
　作家同士の交流も深めることが出来て有意義な時間でもあった。

　Kyoto Municipal Museum of Art, National Museum of Modern Art,
　Kyoto these chief head of curators would recommend 30 artists for this exhibition.I was also selected.

　Most exhibition artists from the whole country, we gather, and, there were an opening and dining together.
　It was also possible to strengthen the intercourse between artists, and it was also meaningful time.

　4月23日、24日、二日間にわたり全国から約700名が参席いただきました。

　父 陶冶斎は濃茶席、私 十一代長左衛門は薄茶席、母は点心席を担当、弟 奈良宗久が全てを取り仕切りました。
　彼の社中、私の友人、家族に支えられて大樋焼開窯350年、父 陶冶斎の米寿祝い、そして私の襲名報告、
　茶の儀式を通じて滞りなく執り行われました。
　参席いただきました方々、関係者の皆様、私達家族にとって貴重な時間でもありました。
　感謝申し上げます。

　2 days of April 23 and 24th, about 700 people gathered from the all over the countries at KANAZAWA Kinjyoro.

　A father Had Koicya-seki, I had Usucya-seki,
　my mother had Tenshin-seki and my young brother Nara Sokyu managed everything.

　Tea ceremony was celebrated for Ohi Ware 350 years,
　Father Toyasai 88 years birthday and my succession by supporting his tea students, my friend and family,

　That time was valuable time for my family and thank to the person concerned, Thank you all.

 


　一昨日から始まった第55回日本現代工芸美術展。光栄なことに馳浩 文部科学大臣、宮田亮平 文化庁長官が視察された。
　主催者側から理事長、副理事などがお迎えして説明役も務めた。

　行動派でスポーツや文化の現場を知る大臣、作家から慕われ自からも作家の長官。
　有難い人々だ。

　The 55th Japan Contemporary arts and Crafts Exhibition which has started from the day before yesterday.
　Minister Hase Hiroshi and Commissioner of the Agency for Cultural Affair
　Miyata Ryohei visited and inspected by being honor.
　The chief director and a deputy director of this exhibition explained from the host side.

　The minister get known as sports player and loves arts,
　the Commissioner who is respecting from all kind of artists and he is also artist.

　I thing they are thankful people.

 


　5日前に京都で時計を無くしてしまった。
　会食した料理屋さん、立ち寄ったクラブ、歩いた道、辿りながら探したけど見つからなかった。悲しいけど交番には届けを出した。
　無くした日から2日後、075の着信がある携帯がなる。制作中は、携帯に出ないのだが、この番号だけは例外で常に緊張する。
　なぜならば、裏千家の場合が多いからだ。
　しかし、その電話は京都の警察からだった。

　時計が見つかった。婦警さんの優しい声は、まさに天使のようだった。
　それと、私が京都を知らないと勘違いしたタクシーの運転手さん。混んでるからと相当の遠回りをして祇園まで乗せたのだが、道は空いていた。
　しかし、届けてくれたのはその運転手さんのようなのだ。怒らなくて良かった。

　日本って凄い国だ。

　My wristwatch has been lost in Kyoto 5 days before.
　The Ryotei who dined together looked for it, though we were the club which dropped in, the route we walked and trace,
　but it wasn't found. I was so sad, but I have filed a report in a police station.
　2 days later, my cell phone with an arrival of 075 was ringing. During my making time I do not answer a cell phone,
　only this number is always tense with an exception. Because it's often from Urasenke.
　But the telephone was from the police in Kyoto.

　My wristwatch was found. Indeed the voice with a policewoman is gentle seemed to be a hierarchy.
　And the taxi driver who misunderstood that I didn't know Kyoto. He told me it's crowded,
　It was indirect way to Gion, the road was not busy at all.

　But that driver looks delivered to the Police Station. I didn't have to get angry. I was lucky!

　Japan is a wonderful country.

 


　大切な友人の一人は、裏千家老分であり株式会社 トーセ代表取締役社長 兼 C.E.O.の齋藤茂さん。
　京都ハンナリーズの後援会長でもある。彼と令嬢の彩子さんと一緒に試合を見に来た。
　互いに試合の反応は反対だけど、初めて経験したアウェイでの観戦だが、残念なことに金沢は負けてしまったが、
　エキサイティングで滅多に見れない好試合だった。

　One person, my important friend is the Urasenke special adviser,
　a corporation TOSE CEO Mr. Shigeru Saito who is also a supporters association chief in Kyoto Hannaryz.
　We went to see a game with his daughter Ayako.

　The game was opposite side for each other,
　and my first away experienced and KANAZAWA lost it but it was a exiting and wonderful game.

 


　安倍首相が主催することもあり、新宿御苑はたくさんの招待者で賑わった。
　光栄にも私も招待を受け、多くの友人にも会えた。
　実感したことは、同年で活躍している人々がいることは、嬉しくもあり励まされる。
　そして、歳が老いてきたのも事実。笑

　Prime Minister Abe hosted at Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden bustled with a lot of invitation person.
　I was honor to be there and I could meet many friends.

　I'm also happy that same age people are working very active way for the society.
　And it's also fact that my age has grown old. Laugh!

 


　一年がけで撮り続けた人々の写真展オープニングに行った。会場はモデルとなった方々と関係者でいっぱいだ。
　父の写真も飾られており、前回は私も撮影していただいた。

　I went to an opening of a photographic exhibition for the people who kept taking for one year by Yamagishi Shin.
　Opening reception was held and the person concerned who became a model.

　Father's picture was also displayed, and I had take a picture of last time, too.

 


　ニューヨークから成田までの機内。疲れていたのかワインを少し飲んだら眠ってしまった。
　すると、祖父九代が夢に現れた。昔、何故か白衣を着て制作していたのだが、そのままの姿だ。
　そして、茶碗を造り始めるかのように私の前に座り、襲名した私に何か極意でも教えたいようなのだ。
　でも、私を見ているだけで、何も話して来ない。

　私が聞いた。天国は平等？
　祖父 はーい！ 昔の祖父の答え方だ。
　さらに聞いた
　天国にもそれぞれの人に役目はあるの？茶碗造りしてるの？
　すると祖父は、本当に悲しそうな目をして去ってしまった。

　きっと私の生き方で確かに悩んでいることもある。間違えていることもあるかもしれない。

　何かを伝えに来たに違いない。
　夢に現れた祖父。ありがとう。

　I slept in the flight between New York and Tokyo after I drank a bit of wine.
　Then my grandfather 9th came out my dream.
　He almost like start make a tea bowl and sitting in front of me.
　He seems to me that wanted to say some important matter however he was just watching me and never talk.

　Finally I asked to my grandfather
　Is there gives equal to the people?
　Grandfather said yes, just like before his word.

　Then I asked him again
　Is there parsons' duty ? And still making tea bowls?
　My grandfather suddenly left me with sad his eyes.

　Probably he wanted to say something because I am still confusing from something after my succession.
　It maybe some mistake I am doing now.

　He wanted to say.
　It means I have to think deeply more than before.
　I have to find out what it is.

　在米日本国大使館に招かれて講演は、始まる1時間前から長蛇の列で驚いた。
　限定されたこの講演会は、告知後の予約は、直後に150名のキャパシティーを超え、100名以上が入れなったらしい。
　そのことを大使館公使から聞いて、かなりのプレシャーともなった。

　3人の大使館公使、外交官、スミソニアンの美術関係者、アーティスト、茶道関係者などで会場は満席。
　参加者の皆様は熱心に私の話を聞いてくれて、難解な質問をも頂いた。

　こんな素晴らしい待遇と境遇を得ることができたのも、裏千家鵬雲斎大宗匠、坐忘斎家元が長い時間をかけての茶道普及似寄るものであり、
　感謝しなければならない。

　お迎えいただき、そしてご拝聴賜った、尾池厚之 特命全権公使、塚田玉樹 広報文化公使、黒田淳一郎 経済産業エネルギー公使、
　川名洋介 二等書記官、私ごときに素晴らしい機会をお与えいただいたことに深く感謝申し上げます。

　I was invited by Embassy of Japan in America to have a lecture.
　I was surprised at a long line from 1 hour ago which opened the door.
　This was limited lecture, more than 100 people of standby and making the reservation after an announcement beyond
　the limit of 150 people at the early stage.

　I heard this story from an embassy minister, and I was shared considerable pressure.

　An auditorium was full by 3 embassy ministers, diplomat people, the person concerned of Smithsonian Institution,
　artists and the Urasenke and Omotesenke Tea peoplee. Everybody of a participant heard my talk eagerly,
　and also received a difficult question.

　Urasenke Daisosyo Hounsai and Oiemoto Zabosai representative family of Japanese tea school also spend long time on
　that benefit which has spread.
　It's clear that I was possible to get such wonderful treatment and circumstances and I have to thank to them.

　I was welcomed and received their participated to the Minister Plenipotentiary and Deputy Chief of Mission Oike Atsuyuki,
　Minister Communications and Cultural Affairs Tsukada Tamaki, Minister Economy Trade,
　Industry and Energy Kuroda Junichiro and Second Secretary Kawana Yousuke who listened deeply.
　It was a very thankful chance and I appreciate that moment.

　先程、ニューヨークから到着。
　ギャラリーは展覧会の設営中。
　明日夜に行われる私の講演準備も完了。
　会場はすでに満席で、キャンセル待ちらしい。。

　I just arrived from New York a short while ago. Our exhibition is preparing at a gallery.
　The preparation for my night lecture tomorrow has done.
　It is already full audience and it's said that it's standby.

 


　出発前日は、ほとんど眠れなかった。でも、やっと今度の襲名展の作品が出来てきた。
　それでも不安なのか、機内でもずっと起きていた。

　4月1日朝、ニューヨークに到着。とりあえず長い間、ほとんど眠っていない。
　マンハッタンのアパートで原稿を書き終えると既に夕刻となっていた。
　友人と約束した夕食を終えて、再び別の原稿を書く。
　4月2日、朝5時。気がつけばそんな時間となっていた。

　それから眠った。

　起きると4時58分だった。一瞬、眠れなかったのか？
　錯覚したのだが、ほぼ12時間、爆睡状態だったのだ。
　疲れていたのだろうか？一瞬の12時間だった。

　The day before departure, Almost no sleep. But works of this succession exhibition was being made finally.
　Still even a worrying one or onboard had no sleep all the while.
　April 1, I arrived in New York in the morning, I'm hardly sleeping for a long time.
　When I finished writing a manuscript in the apartment in Manhattan, it was the evening already.
　The dinner promised with my friend is finished and a different manuscript was written again.
　April 2 and morning 5:00. When noticing, it was such time.

　And I slept.

　When I got up, it was 4:58. Couldn't a moment sleep?
　I had an illusion, for approximately 12 hours, it was in the dead asleep state.
　I must be tired? It was 12 hours in a moment.

 


　ニューヨーク、ワシントン。8日間、行って来ます。
　今日は、エイプリルフール。でも、嘘ではありません！

　New York and Washington for 8 days, I go to visit.
　Today is April fool. But I am not telling a lie. Laugh!

 


　今日は東京で一穂堂ギャラリーさんの20周年記念パーティーに参加。
　桜が満開の皇居前のパレスホテルで中田英寿氏、秋元雄史 金沢21世紀美術館館長、友人などと同席。
　ギャラリーを運営する青野恵子さん、青野祥子さんは、素晴らしい母娘の関係とたゆまぬ努力があったことを皆が認めた日でもあった。

　The Party was held for Ippodo gallery in Tokyo today.
　I attend with Mr. Hidetoshi Nakata, Yuji Akimoto Kanazawa 21st Century and my friend at Palace Hotel in front
　of the full-blown Imperial Palace.

　Ms. Keiko Aono and Ms. Shoko Aono who manage a gallery were also the day when everyone admitted a continuous
　effort a relation of their wonderful mother daughter.

　熱心に皆が私の話を聞いてくれた。
　裏千家高岡支部の方々が温かく迎えてくれた。
　何て有り難いことだろう。

　Feng shui, the Shinto, the Buddhism and zen.
　Everyone tried to understand me eagerly.
　It was warm welcome by Urasenke Takaoka brunch.
　I am thankful for my good forture.

 


　10日　晩遅くに成田空港着。
　11日　昼に金沢に戻る。

　夕刻　第72回金沢市工芸展での恒例となったギャラリートークを行った。
　其の後には、金沢市長などが参加して表彰式、懇親会が行われた。
　どんどん優秀な作家が育っている。
　金沢って凄い街だな！

　The 72nd Kanazawa City Crafts Exhibition
　I held a gallery talk with winner.
　After that Mayor Kanazawa participated awards ceremony and a social gathering were performed.
　An excellent artist is growing up..
　Kanazawa is a wonderful town!

 


　短い米国滞在だったが、全ての予定を終えて帰国する。
　JFK空港から離陸。
　皆様、お世話になりました。では、また！

　It was short staying US. But my all schedule has done.

　ボストンに留学した頃、お世話になった女性がいる
　彼女もすでに92歳
　ニューヨークから彼女に会いに行った。
　襲名の報告をしたら、凄く喜んでくれた。
　いつも思うことは「これが最後かも！」
　でも、その再会が続いている。
　永遠に続いてほしい。
　ボストンの母。
　少し小さくなったかもしれない。

　When I was in Boston, there is a lady who took care of me.
　She, already, 92 years old
　I was in New York, I went and met.
　I reported I succeed CHOZAEMON XI, she was very glad.
　Always to think, "This may be last time!"
　However the reunion continues.
　I want following eternity.
　Mother in Boston.

　Maybe she is a little smaller.

 


　ボストンへ移動するのだが、早朝の空港は大混雑。
　慣れてはきたが機械でチェックイン、極めて少ない職員の応対は機械より冷たい。

　日本でのサービスに慣れている我々には、このような航空会社の対応には、いささか疑問を感じてしまう。
　テロ対策のために厳重なのは当然なのだが、それぞれのセクションの人々が疲れきった表情に見えてしまう。
　それは、毎日が乗客からのクレームだらけで過ごしているからなのかもしれない。
　”おもてなし”？
　この環境下では出来るわけもないし、求められてもいないのだろう。
　もちろん、世界中で特別待遇の人達からすれば、そんなことに気付くわけもない。

　空港を離れたら、皆それぞれが良い人に戻って生活しているのだろうか？
　そうだと信じたい。

　飛行機に乗り遅れた私の戯言でした。

　I move to Boston, Newark Airport in early morning was big congestion.
　It has been familiar check in by a machine and a few staff's services are very cooler toward than a machine.

　I feel a doubt slightly in correspondence of such airline company for us accustomed to service in Japan.
　It's natural to be strict for counter-terrorism measures, people of the respective sections see as the expression
　which the are tired.

　That may be the spending every day all time full of the claims from the passenger.
　" Hospitality “?
　There are also no senses which can be done under this environment and it won't be also desired.

 


　朝6時、マンハッタンのアパートから、ウーバー（Uber）でニューアーク空港に移動した。
　これは、イエローキャブ(タクシー)とは異なり、スマートフォンでアプリを通じて一般のドライバーが乗客を運ぶ米国発の配車サービスだ。
　予約すれば、数分でやって来る。
　イエローキャブと比べれば、車は綺麗だし、ドライバーも大半は愛想良く快適だ。
　最近のシステムで、いずれ日本もそうなるかもしれない。

　I have moved from an apartment in Manhattan to the Newark airport in uber at 6:00 in the morning.
　This is different from Yellow Cab (taxi) and is allocating service from USA where a general driver carries a passenger
　through an application by smart phone. When making a reservation, they come in several minutes.
　The car is comfortablel compared with Yellow Cab and the most drives are friendly.
　Japan may be also eventually so by a recent system.

　東日本大震災から5年が過ぎ去ろうとしている。
　ニューヨークでも5回目の追悼式典が行われた。
　被災地からのメッセージ、ニューヨーク側からのメッセージ、たくさんの賛同者とスポンサー。
　そして、合唱された〜海に還った子供たちへ〜私の心に深く刻まれたレクイエムだった異国で自国の被災を考える、学びの時間でもあった。
　アパートに戻ると電話やメールが届いた。
　この模様がNHKで放映されて、私が映っていたそうだ。

　5 years try to pass from an eastern Japan great earthquake.
　The 5th time of mourning ceremony was also performed in New York.
　Message from a disaster area and message from the New York side
　A lot of subscribers and sponsors
　And to the children who returned to a chorused-sea-.
　It was the requiem I engraved on my memory deeply.
　An accident in an own country is considered abroad.
　It was also time of the learning.
　When I return to an apartment, I have received the telephone and a mail.
　I was in the televised by NHK I was told.

 


　ボブ ベルスティン博士とニューヨークで美容関係の仕事を大きく展開している、シズカ ベルスティン夫人は私のとても大切な友人夫妻だ。
　そんな彼らには愛するニキータさんというコーネル大学に通う娘がいる。
　大学は、全米でも評価が高く（世界ランキング19位、東京大学とほぼ同等）優秀な卒業生が世界で活躍している。

　この大学には、ニキータさんも履修する日本文化講座があり、ニューヨークに教授と学生が出向き、特別に私が授業を行った。
　いくつもの鋭い質問も受けて、彼らの持つ教養に驚かされた。

　ボブ ベルスティン博士、シズカ ベルスティン夫人、ニキータ ベルスティンさん。
　粋な計らいありがとございました。

　Dr. Bob Bernstein and Mrs. Shizuka Bernstein developing work on a beauty business so wildly in New York area,
　they are my very important friend. Also they have a beautiful daughter called Nikita who loves.
　And she's a student of Cornell University.
　This university is producing the excellent graduate also highly regarded by all-America (19th place of the world rank).

　Nikita took Japanese culture of zen and Japanese culture,
　then I taught in New York as a special lecture. I received many sharp questions,
　and was surprised by its eagerness, too.

　Dr. Bob Bernstein, Mrs. Shizuka Bernstein and Ms. Nikita Bernstein.

　東京都とニューヨーク市民による草の根レベルの交流を目的として、1996年にスタートしたこの展覧会、
　そのほとんどを私は審査員として招かれてきた。
　今回は、Ron Labaco氏（キュレーター、アート＆デザイン美術館）、土肥信一氏（元コンサベーター、メトロポリタン美術館）、
　Cora Rosevear氏（副キュレーター、MOMA）、村瀬実恵子氏（コロンビア大学名誉教授、元メトロポリタン美術館　東洋部特別顧問）
　と共に審査させて頂いた。
　夜は、受賞式が催され、最優秀賞は、全日空から東京ーニューヨーク往復航空券が贈られた。
　作品は3月1日より7日まで、ニューヨークにある日本クラブ内日本ギャラリーにて展示されている。

　CaFa was organized in 1997 to further the cultural ties between the sister cities of New York and Tokyo
　by encouraging and honoring the creativity of their clay artists.
　All ceramists from New York and Tokyo are invited to enter the competition.
　I am being eminent judge and Ron Labaco, Marcia Docter Curator of Museum of Arts & Design; Shinichi Doi,
　former conservator, The Metropolitan Museum; Cora Rosevear, Associate Curator,
　Museum of Modern Art; Professor Miyeko Murase, Columbia University and former Special Consultant
　for Japanese Art at The Metropolitan Museum selected winning pieces.
　An exhibition of the selected pieces will be presented at The Nippon Gallery at The
　Nippon Club from March 1 to March 7, 2016.
　The reception and award presentation ceremony was held on Friday, March 4, 2016 from 6 p.m.
　First Place Grand Prize winner was received a round trip ticket from New York to Tokyo contributed
　by All Nippon Airways.

　今から、ニューヨーク！
　工芸コンペの審査があるけど、ほんのしばらくの充電の旅。
　小松空港からの乗り継ぎ便が遅れて、大変だった。

　アパート暮らし、しばしのニューヨーカーをエンジョイしてきます。

　Now I am leaving for New York.
　I will be a judge for ceramics competition but I will be in charged for my art energy also.
　My connection flight from Komatsu was delayed so I had to run.

　I will be a New Yorker living in apartment just little a while.

　今日は、梅村光男さんが企画した、金沢片町まつりの日。
　積み重ねて今年で9回目、彼と夫人は懇意な仲だからそのほとんどを訪れている。
　梅村光男さんは、私の兄的存在。だから、夫人は私にも大切な存在だ。

　石川県社交組合理事長も努める梅村光男さん。そして、多くの関わりある方々の努力によって、片町まつりは470名の大盛況。

　その後、皆が片町に散っていった。
　夫人、お仲間とともに、私も夜遅くまで盛り上がったのだった。

　Today is a day of the Kanazawa Katamachi festival Mr. Mitsuo Umemura planned.
　It's piled up, the 9th time this year, she mostly visited. Because both of them are very good friend.
　Mr. Mitsuo Umemura is elder brother-like existence. So Miss Dewi is existence important to me, automatically.

　Mr. Mitsuo Umemura who makes an effort toward the Ishikawa-ken socializing association chief director, too.
　And the boom by which Katamachi festival is 470 by the person's effort with concerned stuff here.

　After that everyone was moving to Katamachi.
　I was in that town with Miss Dewi and Mitsuo Umemura until late evening, too.

 


　重要閣僚として重責を担う大臣の金沢視察
　関係者とSPを伴い、我家に立ち寄ってくれた。
　実は、彼とは昔からの友人。
　何か不思議な気持ちだ。
　戌年、同じ歳の57歳。活躍する仲間がいる。
　素晴らしいことだ。

　The Minister for Kanazawa inspection
　He carries heavy responsibility as an important Cabinet.
　And stopped at my home with many of related people and SP.
　Well, he is one of my old friend from the past.
　Some strange feeling.
　Dog age and the same 57 years old.
　I have the company who challenges an active part.
　It is a wonderful thing.

 


　自分が避けてきた事柄、そしてやらなければならなかった事柄はやらせる。
　あるいは、自らの経験からにおいて、してはいけないことはやらさない。
　それが、私の子供への教育方法だ。
　子供の頃から好き放題に生きてきた私
　典型的に自分にあまく、子供に厳しい、バカ親なのだ。

　長男には厳しく、私は怒るばかりで褒めたことはない。
　今日まで、長男には次々に人生が試される試練があった。
　仮に理不尽であっても、彼の前では同情を見せなかった。
　家業を継ぐと言って、彼は東京藝術大学で建築を学び大学院生となった。
　2年間の休学の中、多治見市陶芸意匠研究所で陶芸を学ぶ。

　そして今日の卒業展。私は両親を連れて見に行った。
　素晴らしい指導者と優秀な仲間達に囲まれて
　節制した生活の中で、確かに彼は学んでいる。

　人前で制作したものをコンペに試す。
　何があっても努力を怠らない。
　これらは彼との約束

　今日、長男に歳を問いかけた。彼も既に27歳。
　私の初めての個展はボストン市役所。27歳だった。
　その時、そして今日、それぞれの証を私の両親が確かめてくれた。
　聞いてはいないが、父、十代長左衛門、陶冶斎はどう受け止めただろうか？
　考えてみれば、父と私の関係は、長男と私の関係が逆転しただけなのかもしれない。
　言い換えるなら、それぞれが有難い人生を賜っている。

　The matter one I had avoided and the matter I had to do make them do.
　Or I did make the bad thing which shouldn't be done from my experience.
　That's education technique to my child.
　I am just living own my way from child's time and has lived extraordinarily
　I'm always selfish typically and am a stupid parent severe on a child.

　I don't estimate deliberately for eldest son.
　My eldest son always share the hard time for his life time.
　Even if it was unreasonable, sympathy wasn't shown in front of him.

　And he learned construction at Tokyo University of Fine Arts,
　then he was a graduate student.During registered absence from school for 2 years,
　ceramics is learned at Tajimi-city ceramics design research center.

　And today's graduation exhibition. I took my parents and went to see.
　He was circled by a wonderful teacher and excellent companies.
　He's learning certainly in the moderated life.

　The one produced by the public is tried in a competition.
　Whatever there is, an effort isn't neglected.
　These are an appointment with him.

　I asked eldest son the year today. He, already, 27 years old.
　My first exhibition is Boston city hall. I was 27 years old.
　Then and my parents made sure of the respective seen today.
　I wasn't heard, but how was my father, Tenth Chozaemon Toyasai caught?

　When thinking, a relation between my father and me may be eldest son and the one my relation just reversed.
　That's to say, a life thankful for each us are given.

　建築家 黒川雅之先生に招かれ、香道志野流21代目である蜂谷宗苾若宗匠と対談した。

　黒川先生とは、20年ほど前に始まった茶美会という新しい茶会を皆で模索した頃からのお付き合いで、
　大変尊敬するクリエイターだ。

　蜂谷若宗匠は、香道を海外にまで普及させ日本文化を担われている。
　そして、気心が合う兄弟のような関係でもある。

　二人で「日本の伝統と現代」をテーマに話させて頂いたが、彼には長い伝統の血が流れている。
　そんな立場でありながら、常に挑戦し続けるプロフェッショナルだ。

　話しながら学んだこと！
　　・我家の伝統？

　彼とは比較にならない。無いに等しい。
　　・挑戦者でいること

　彼は継承者でありながら挑戦者。
　私は彼より18年も違う。しかし変わらぬモチベーションでいたい。

　I was invited by Architect Masayuki Kurokawa and had a talk with Kodo Shino the 21st generation Hachiya Sohitsu

　Mr. Kurokawa is the creator who is associating and looks up very much from the time when we groped
　after a research ing for the new way of tea Sabie which has started before about 20 years.

　Young Master Hachiya even makes kodo spread in foreign countries and carries Japanese culture.
　And it's also a relation like the brother.

　We spoke to a theme about "Japanese tradition and modernity"
　but long traditional blood is flowing to him. Though it's such viewpoint, He is the professional who always
　keeps challenging.

　The thing which was learned while speaking!
　　* Tradition in my home?
　It is no comparison. I don't have that history back.
　　* Stay to be challenger.
　Though he's a successor, challenger.
　I'm also more different for 18 years than him. But it's painful by the motivation which doesn't change.

　Thank you very much for Mr. Kurokawa, Young Master Hachiya and everybody who participated.

 


　昨日は芦屋の友人宅でディナーに招かれた
　とても有意義な時間だった。
　今は新幹線で東京に移動中
　美しい富士山が見えてきた。

　子供の頃から撮影してきた山。
　今はシャッターチャンスが難しい
　しかし、周りが環境破壊されても
　その雄姿は変わらない
　二つと無いから不二とも呼ぶ。
　日本人の魂がそこにある。
　大切にしなければ

　It was invited to dinner at friend home in Ashiya yesterday.
　It was very meaningful time.
　I have moved to Tokyo by Shinkansen now.
　Beautiful Mt. Fuji has been seen.

　The mountain of which I have taken a picture from child's time.
　A shutter chance is difficult now.
　But even if others does environmental destruction.
　The majestic figure doesn't change.
　It used to call 不二山. Because It never has same one.
　A Japanese soul is there.
　We have to keep because it is important.

 


　私が敬愛する秋元雄史金沢21世紀美術館館長。
　今は東京藝術大学美術館館長も兼務されている。
　その彼が出版した工芸本が人気を呼んでいる。
　発売されて3週間、既に再版が予定されている。
　現代アートの最前線にいながら、工芸を捉える専門家は皆無だった。
　彼が注目した多くの作家が世界から注目されている。
　視点が違えば、工芸の未来も変わる。
　多くの優秀な作家の中で、私も取り上げられている。有難いことだ。

　Mr. Akimoto Yuji who is Kanazawa 21st museum of Contemporary Art Director and Tokyo University of Fine Arts

　Though he's in the forefront of contemporary art, none of specialist who catches arts and crafts until today.

　世界が注目する、2020年オリンピック開催地である「東京」
　その東京都知事が、講演のために金沢に来られ、お会いする事も出来た。

　講演で話された「東京」からみた「金沢」については賛辞ばかりだった。
　しかし、本当に「金沢」は、さらに魅力的な町になれるのだろうか？

　日本のリーダーの一人である舛添要一氏。
　「地方創生は簡単なことではない」それを間接的に伝えた気がする。

　"Tokyo" where the world is the watched 2020 year Olympic site.
　Tokyo Governor could come to Kanazawa for a lecture.
　And it was possible to meet him the first time by friend's introduction.

　That lecture was only a praise about focus "Kanazawa" from "Tokyo"
　But I can not believe "Kanazawa" will be more attractive town really.

　He is one of Japanese leader.
　"Local creation isn't an easy thing." I think that was told indirectly.

 


　1月26日から金沢に滞在している彼。
　全てのイベントを終えて、昨日から私の仕事場にやってきた。

　朝から晩まで、時を忘れて我々は制作した。
　その時、互いが話した互いの人生
　翌日、彼は帰って行った

　He staying at Kanazawa from January 26. He finished all events and came to my studio from yesterday.
　We were unaware of time from a morning to the evening, and produced.
　Then we talked our each mutual life.

　He returned on the next day.

　石井竜也氏さんは、ファミリーのようなファンクラブに守られている。
　全国から250名を超える彼のファンが金沢に集結した。
　そして、3日間にわたるイベントは今日がクライマックス。
　午前、ファンの皆様が我家を訪問
　午後、彼は私を対談相手として招いてくれた。
　互いのためにも内容のあるトークショーだった。

　彼と私は不思議な縁で結ばれているようだ。
　1月27日 私が大樋長左衛門を襲名した記念すべき日
　彼はすでに金沢に滞在中で、その後の彼の私への振る舞いは感動的だった。
　こんなスーパースターの友人がいるなんて、私は幸せ者だ

　A fan club like a family exists in Musician Tatuya Ishii.
　His fan beyond 250 people gathered at Kanazawa from the whole country.
　And an event for 3 days, today is a climax.
　Everybody of a fan visits my home in the morning.
　He invited me as a talk partner in the afternoon.
　It was also a meaningful talk show for both of us.

　It seems that he and I are tied at a strange coincidence
　January 27th it is the most Memorial day because I received 11th Ohi Chozaemon
　He was already staying at Kanazawa and it was very much impressive behavior for me.
　I'm a happy person to have a friend of such superstar.

 


　今日、十一代大樋長左衛門の名跡を襲名した

　晴天の京都・裏千家今日庵へ父と紋付袴姿で訪問。
　そして、十六代坐忘斎御家元御奉仕による、襲名の儀が執り行われた。
　正に一世一代の日を迎えたのだった。

　御祖堂にて千利休居士、裏千家歴代宗匠、坐忘斎御家元に口上挨拶。
　父は米寿を迎え大樋陶冶斎として、これから作家活動に専念する。
　父から私は家業を継承し、十一代大樋長左衛門の名跡を襲名報告。

　坐忘斎御家元が、祝意に満ちた濃茶を我々に点てて下さる。

　加賀藩五代藩主 前田綱紀候が、裏千家四代 仙叟宗室居士を金沢に招いた際、楽家四代 一入の高弟だった初代 長左衛門が同道した。
　これが大樋焼の始まりで350年が経つ。

　前田家、裏千家、楽家からの歴史的恩恵、元気な父が健在しながら襲名出来た事、全てに感謝しながら専心努力する。

　坐忘斎御家元から賜った空間と時間。
　代を譲った父の心境。
　私は一生忘れない。

　Today I succeeded to the name of OHI CHOZAEMON XI.

　On a fine day in Kyoto my father and I went in formal kimono, haori and hakama for an audience with Zabosai Oiemoto,
　the 16th generation Grand Master of the Urasenke Tradition.
　Zabosai Oiemoto performed the official ceremony of the name succession.
　This was a day that occurs only once in a lifetime.

　In Urasenke’s Shrine of the Honorable Ancestor,
　my father I exchanged formal greetings with Zabosai Oiemoto in front of the many generations of Urasenke
　Grand Masters going back to Sen no Rikyu.
　My father now in his 88th year will continue his artistic activities under the name of OHI TOYASAI.
　I wish to formally announce that I have officially succeeded my father and will take on the name
　of OHI CHOZAEMON XI.

　At Urasenke in a tearoom, known as “Listening to the Breeze,” which was built most recently during
　the Heisei period, we were honored to receive a bowl of thick tea made by Zabosai Oiemoto in celebration
　of this important occasion.

　In 1666 the fifth lord of the Maeda family,
　Lord Maeda Tsunanori, invited to Kanazawa the fourth generation tea master of the Urasenke tradition,
　Senso Soshitsu, to be an official magistrate of chado, or what is known as the tea ceremony.
　Chozaemon, a close disciple of Ichinyu, the fourth generation head of the Raku family of potters,
　accompanied the tea master Senso to Kanazawa and began to produce tea bowls. This is the beginning
　of the Ohi-yaki tradition that now goes back 350 years.

　I am forever indebted to the Maeda family, Urasenke and the Raku family.
　My gratitude is immeasurable for being able to succeed the family name while my father is in fine health.
　I will devote myself wholeheartedly to live up to the honor of this name.

　時間が止まったようだ
　今年一番の寒さの中
　ひたすら制作する

　朝、金沢は雪。東京は快晴。
　冬の様相は大きく異なる。
　日本は狭いながらにロマンな国だ。
　しかし、この距離も縮まり
　北陸新幹線は日常生活となってしまい、その感動も薄れそうだ。

　JEITAデザイン委員会での講演に招かれた。
　そんな視点も踏まえながら
　「デザイン知の伝承」
　大企業で活躍する若手デザイナーに話をさせて頂いた。

　Today, Kanazawa is snow. Tokyo is mostly sunny. The winter aspect is quite big different. Japan, though it's small,
　the country which is a romance.
　But this distance is also shrinkage. The Hokuriku area Shinkansen is daily life, and the impression seems also to fade.

　I was invited to a lecture by JEITA design committee. While being also based on such viewpoint.
　"Handed down for the knowledge of design " I had a talk with the designer of the young people who works an active
　part by large enterprise.

　今日の東京は大雪。
　原宿駅のエスカレーターを降りる途中だった。反対側登りの女性が突然倒れた。
　救助に私が駆けつけるも、上で倒れたままで、とても危険な状況だった。
　彼女には友達がいて、一緒に抱き起こし横にさせた。顔面蒼白。
　駅員を呼んで状況を説明。その頃に彼女の意識は戻ってきた。

　医師ではないから何が原因かわからない。
　人と人との巡り合わせ。不思議なことだ。
　でも、少しは人の手助けできたかもしれない。

　Today, Tokyo is a heavy snow.
　It was while I was walking down from an escalator in Harajuku station.
　The female of the other side fell down suddenly.
　In rescue, I run, it was the very dangerous situation while falling down at the top.
　There was a friend for her, and I took her up and made her lay on their sides together.
　A face is pale. I called station employees and I explained the situation. At the same time her consciousness has returned.

　I'm not a doctor, I don't know what was her condition.
　Fortune with a person and a person. A strange thing.
　Maybe I could help that woman just a little.

　その雑誌には「今日はホンネで」という連載コーナーがある。
　インタビュアーは、現代美術を専門とする多摩美大教授・本江邦夫先生。
　私が始めた新しい仕事を現代美術として注目してくれている。

　新年となって、アートコレクターズ、月刊ギャラリー、月刊美術などの取材が続く
　私を現代アーティストとして取り上げてくれている。
　有難い限りだ。そして、全てに挑戦する年がスタートした。

　That magazine has the serialization section which says "Today is Real feelings."
　An interviewer is the Tama Art University professor who makes the contemporary art a major Mr. Motoe Kunio.

　His attention to the my new work It begun as contemporary art.

　Coverage of Art Correctors, Monthly Gallery and Monthly Fine Arts would be a new year, and continues.
　All take me up as a contemporary artist.
　It's as far as I'm thankful. And the year when I challenge everything has started.

 


　彼とはenjin01文化戦略会議の同じメンバーで、全国で様々な活動を通じた仲間でもある。
　そんな彼の講演に興味があった。
　カリフォルニア州の弁護士でもある彼は、日本に長く住みながら築いてきた独自の日本感を持っている。

　日本人は、これからどのように生きていかなければならないのか？
　彼は言う「家のドアに鍵をかけないことを公言しても、泥棒にあわない家」
　これが日本の憲法であり国家なのだそうだ。
　確かに財布を落としても戻るのは日本の道徳。他国はそうはならないだろう。
　日本は日本で守るべき！これが彼の主張でもあった。

　APAグループの新年互礼会での彼の講演は反響が大きかったようだ。
　その後の新年会では各国の大使と共に私も鏡割りをさせて頂いた。
　残念なことはあまりの多くの参加者で彼とはゆっくり話ができなかった。

　He's the same member of enjin01 cultural strategy council and is also all our member through various activity nationwide.

　I was interested in such his lecture.
　He is a lawyer of the State of California has the original Japanese sense he has noticed while living in Japan lengthily.

　Will Japanese be how to do have to be living now?
　He said that "house is always safe even if I pronounce not to lock a door of the house
　This is a Japanese constitution.
　It's Japanese morality to return even if I lose our purse certainly. An other country wouldn't be so.
　Japan should be protected in Japan! This was also his insistence.

　Response seems to have been big for his lecture in new year goreikai of a APA group.
　It's after that, I as well as an ambassador of each country did kagami-wari by a new-year's party, too.
　I couldn't talk a little with him by many participants.

　一般の部、青少年の部と分けられたこの展覧会。
　言い方を変えれば
　子供、障碍者、成人、アマチュア、プロ、そんな人々が出品。
　垣根を取り除いて観ると高校生が最優秀賞。
　28年で初めてのこと。
　そのようなハプニングを起こすことが
　審査員としての私の仕事かもしれない。

　This exhibition was separated from the general people and the young people.
　When the way of speaking is changed.
　A child, a person with disabilities, an adult, an amateur, a professional people enter a work.
　That a fence is taken and seen, a high school student is a highest award.
　For 28 years, it is the first time.
　To cause such a happend.
　It may be my work as a judge.

 


　世界からの留学生が私の工房に集まった。
　今日から4回の授業。
　出来上がる作品は一生の思い出となるだろう。
　彼らの金沢の記憶の一部に私を加えてくれるだろうか？

　Students from all of the world gathered in my studio. The class will be 4 times from today.
　A finished work would be a memory fit everyone.
　I hope they will add me to their part of Kanazawa's memory?

 


　金沢にある月心寺
　そこは私の心を清める場
　仏前に感謝を捧げながら毎年の正月を迎える

　しかし例年とは全く違う心境の自分がいる。
　だからだろうか？年末には今までの記憶を消し去るかのように掃除をした。
　一つ一つを思い出しながらかなりのものを捨てた。
　後悔するかもしれないものも含めて、、、、、、

　知人が教えてくれた。
　アーチェストとは常に自らにメダルを目指すアスリート
　覚悟はできた。
　温故知新と温新知故。どちらにも猛チャレンジしてみる。

　The place where it purifies for my heart.
　Yearly New Year’s, I serve to thank to the Buddha.

　Now I have one of different feelings from usual years.
　Maybe because I erased the memory in the end of the year and cleaned.
　Something considerable was thrown away while remembering each time.
　It maybe gone something important, 、、、、、、.

　My respect artist told me.
　Artists! what means the athlete always aims at a medal for own competition.
　I could determine that.
　I am a challenger
　for discovery of new things by studying the past and discovery of old things by studying the new.
