　天気予報は雨だったのに、冬の金沢には珍しい晴れ間だった。
　馳浩石川県知事、村山卓金沢市長が中心となって名誉県民、名誉市民でもあった父のためにお別れの会を催してくれた。
　弔辞は、山出保 元金沢市長、奥田小由女 日本芸術院第一部会長、宮田亮平 前文化庁長官、野村萬 日本芸術院院長(代読)があり、
　全国から900人を超える方々が参列していただいた。
　父が亡くなる直前に私が初めて言えたことがある。
　「ずっと誇りに思ってたよ」
　しばらくして父は旅立っていった。
　こんな盛大で厳粛な会に、たんさんの方々から別れを告げられて、父は喜んでいるに違いない。
　父がこれまで出会った人々の全てに感謝申し上げます。

　A short time later, my father departed.
　My father must have been happy to be said goodbye from many people at such a grand and solemn gathering.

　一昨日から右側頭部が火傷したかのように痛かった。強いストレスと疲れからくる神経の病気だそうだ。
　私はそんなに弱くないと思うのだが👎

　Since the day before yesterday, the right side of my head has been hurting as if it had been burned.

　毎年、金沢大学にやってきた世界中からの留学生に授業を続けてきて、
　今年で25年目を迎え、和田隆志学長から表彰を受けた。
　今では、600人を超える学生達が世界に点在していて、
　個展なので授業で教わったときてくれる。
　こんな喜びも25年の継続のお陰なのかもしれない。

　Every year I have continued to give classes to international students from all over the world
　who have come to Kanazawa University,

　父は毎年出品を続けて来て70年を超える。
　私は、日本伝統工芸展に10年、そしてその後の日展に25年間出品して来た。

　二羽の鳥が会えずに彷徨っている。今の世界を憂い心配しにいたからだ。
　私の作品のタイトルは、「大地の記憶」
　夏のコロラド旅行の印象によるもの。
　父の作品は遺作となってしまったが、積み重ねる大切さを学んだ気がする。

　My father has exhibited every year for over 70 years.
　I have exhibited at the Japan Traditional Crafts Exhibition for 10 years, and then at the Nitten for 25 years.

　10日前に亡くなった父、生きていれば96歳だった。
　毎日、絶え間なく弔問の方々が訪れてくれている。
　実に有難いことだ。

　負けん気で頑張ってきた父が突然旅立ちました。
　10月28日が誕生日で、記念した茶盌を造ろうとも話していたのですが、その直前でした。

　負けん気で頑張り抜いた人生でした。

　昨日と今日、近親者で密葬を済ませました。
　父とゆっくりした時間が流れました。

　最後まで言えなかったけど「頑張ったね！そして素晴らしい人生だったね！そして誇りに思ってる」

　この前、金沢で茶会やパレードでご一緒したばかりだけど、金沢での対談の前に我家に立ち寄ってくれた。
　ゆっくりとした時間だった。

　馳浩知事が重点的に推進する石川県の文化観光の施策。
　その一つかこの制度だ。
　伝統工芸や伝統芸能、歴史的な文化財、食文化、生活文化などを専門とした登録者は55名、
　そして今日の就任式に臨んだのは30名。

　代表者として私が挨拶させていただあた。
　石川県が誇る文化資源の魅力を国内外にわかりやすく伝え、石川県の文化観光と誘客拡大に貢献できるよう、
　精一杯努めると誓いを述べさせていただいた。

　Governor Hase Hiroshi's priority is to promote cultural tourism in Ishikawa Prefecture.
　One of them is this system. There are 55 registered guides specializing in traditional crafts,
　traditional performing arts, historical cultural assets, food culture, lifestyle culture, etc.,
　and 30 of them attended the inauguration ceremony today.

　As the representative, I was honored to deliver a speech.

　I pledged to do my utmost to contribute to the expansion of cultural tourism in Ishikawa Prefecture

　限られた時間に全て話せないけど、また招いてくれるかもしれない。
　夕刻、すでに私は金沢に戻っている。
　明日からは10月。加速された時の流れのようだ。

　Last night, I took the last train from Kanazawa to Nagoya.
　This city, has the benefit of a continuing line of connections to my grandfather, my father, and me.
　In the morning, I was invited to give a lecture to 500 people at the Urasenke Tankokai, Tokai Region,
　Aichi Prefecture Branch.
　I can't talk about everything in the limited time, but they may invite me again.

　韓国の文化行政は手厚いと言われているが、清州市は10億円ほどの予算でこの工芸イベントを支えている。
　清州市長にも面会したが、ユネスコクリエイティブシティの加盟を目指していて、金沢市をモデルとしているそうだ。
　ゆえに私へは厚遇の招きだった。
　ここでもたくさんの方々と絆ができた。
　きっとまた訪れることだろう。

　Korea's cultural administration is said to be generous, and the city of Cheongju supports this craft event

　裏千家淡交会福岡支部・青年部創立35周年記念大会が開催された。
　そしてその記念講演として私が招かれた。
　茶会、式典+講演、そして懇親会となったのだが、この地でも大変な歓迎を受けた。
　積み重なっていく人との縁、その繋がりによって今日があることに感謝。
　そして、ありがとうございました。

　The 35th anniversary of the founding of the Fukuoka Branch of the Urasenke Tankokai and
　also Youth Division was celebrated at a convention.
　I was invited to give a commemorative lecture.
　There was a tea ceremony, a lecture, and a reception, and I received a very warm welcome here as well.
　I am grateful for the fact that the relationships between people have brought me today.

　最愛の長女・茉紀が他界してから6年が過ぎた。そして、美しい花が届いている。
　有難いことに、多くの人が娘を忘れないでいてくれている。
　悲しみは癒えることなどない。
　それならそのままでいれば良い。
　その心が別の光明を観させてくれる。
　そのおかげで、今の私があるのだから。
　最近そう思うのです。合掌

　写真は、亡くなるほんの数ヶ月前、ハワイに娘と一緒に行った際に、嫌がる娘に頼みながら撮影したもの。
　今となれば貴重な写真となりました。

　Six years have passed since our beloved eldest daughter, Maki, passed away 2018.
　And beautiful flowers have arrived. Thankfully, many people have remembered our daughter.
　Grief never heals.
　Then just stay that way.
　It is the heart that allows me to see the light of another way.
　Who I am today because of that.
　That's what I've been thinking lately.

　The photo was taken just a few months before her death, when she went to Hawaii with me daughter,
　asking her to take the photo, which she did not want to do.
　It is now a precious photo.

　彼女は国際的に高い評価を受けている日本の写真家の一人だ。
　それは単に美しい女性だからでもなく、元ミスユニバース日本代表だったからでもない。
　言い換えるならば、その芸術性は被写体だった自らがレンズを通じた心象に自らを観ていることなのかもしれない。
　彼女が発表したハイテクノロジーにる金箔に印刷された写真は、まるで琳派からの日本画のようでもある。
　また、石川県ゆかりの１０４人の写真も展示されており、その中には、優しく微笑む父(十代大樋長左衛門・陶冶斎)の写真もあり、
　その横には私の写真も展示されている。
　織作峰子さんの活躍は同じ石川県出身者として大変な誇りでもある。
　そして、彼女とは全国各地で行われるイベントなどを共にしてきた長い交友がある。
　これからも互いに励ましあう仲間でいたいと思う。

　She is one of the internationally acclaimed Japanese photographers. This is not because she is a beautiful woman,
　nor because she was a former Miss Universe Japan.
　In other words, her artistry may be that she sees herself in the mental images through the lens of her own subject.
　Her photographs, printed on high-tech gold leaf, resemble Japanese paintings from the Rimpa Style.
　Also on display are photographs of 104 people associated with Ishikawa Prefecture,
　including my father (Ohi Chozaemon X, Toyasai), who is smiling gently, and beside him is a photograph of myself.
　As a native of Ishikawa Prefecture, I am very proud of Ms. Mineko Orisaku's activities.
　I have done a long friendship with her and we have shared many events together in various parts of Japan.
　I hope we can continue to be friends and encourage each other in the future.

　連休最中の5月2日、私も講義したこともあるワシントン&リー大学の学生達がジャネット イケダ教授の
　引率のもとに同大を訪れた時があった。
　その際に英語による交流茶会が催され、招かれた私は両校の学生に話もさせていただいた。
　金沢で開催されている全国学生大茶会。
　一昨日、学生達は我が家を訪れてくれた。
　そして、国際基督教大学が席主となる茶会に参加させて頂いた。
　聡明な彼らは語学を駆使して日本文化を会得しようとしている。
　これからの日本は彼らのような若者を必要としているのではないだろうか。

　On May 2, during the holidays, students from Washington and Lee University, where I have also lectured,
　visited ICU under the leadership of Professor Janet Ikeda.
　An exchange tea ceremony was held in English, and I was invited to speak to the students from both universities.

　昨晩、静岡入りして懐かしい二人の同窓生と夕食を共にした。
　高校時代からの変わらぬ友情に感謝。
　そして今日、裏千家淡交会静岡支部に巡回講師として講演をさせていただいた。
　演題は、「忍耐の工芸から夢の工芸へ」アフターコロナの今。
　300人を超える方々に2時間にわたり話をさせていただいた。

　Last night, I arrived in Shizuoka and had dinner with two old classmates.
　I am grateful for the friendship that has remained unchanged since high school.
　Today, I gave a lecture to the Urasenke Tankokai Shizuoka Branch.
　I spoke for two hours to over 300 people.

　A solo exhibition of my father who is turn to 96 years old.
　During the Corona Disaster, he gave it all he had.
　From the first day of the exhibition, Toshisuke Maeda, the 18th head of the Maeda family, Ryohei Miyata,
　former head of the Cultural Affairs Agency, Fuminori Haruyama Member of the Japan Art Academy

　天皇皇后両陛下の拝謁を仰ぎ、本日、恩賜賞並びに日本芸術院賞を受賞させていただいた。

　消えることのない悲しみを持ち続けることは、新たな気付きが生まれることを知った。

　Today, I received the Imperial Prize and the Japan Art Academy Prize in the presence of
　Their Majesties the Emperor and Empress.
　Their Majesties have asked me to come down as a recipient of the Imperial Prize,

　豊田市文化フォーラムの顧問を拝命しているのだが、
　有難いことに副市長、美術館館長など30人のメンバーが集まり私の受賞を祝ってくれた。
　訪れるごとに、ここは私の地元かと思わせてくれるほどに、この街の人々との縁が深まっていく。

　I have been appointed as an advisor to the Toyota City Cultural Forum,
　and thankfully 30 members gathered to celebrate my award.
　Each time I visit, my connection with the people of this city deepens to the point where
　I feel as if this is my hometown.

　

　今日、日本芸術院会館に受賞者が集まり、7/3に行われる授賞式の予行があった。
　天皇陛下の拝謁を仰ぎ、別部屋では受賞作品展が企画されていて、
　私を含む3人の恩賜賞受賞者には、陛下から6分間づつの御下問を賜れることになっている。
　緊張する時間であることが、予行からも伝わった。

　Today, the award winners gathered at the Japan Art Academy Hall for a preview of the award ceremony to be
　held on July 3.
　We were received by the Emperor of Japan, and in a separate room, an exhibition of award-winning
　works was being planned.
　The three Imperial Prize laureates, including myself, will be given six minutes each to answer questions from His Majesty.

　驚いたことに、35年前に父が同じ場所で講演をしている。
　この地には懐かしい知人も多く、有り難く300名を超える皆様に話をさせて頂いた。

　I was invited to give a lecture at the Chubu-Chugoku district of the Urasenke Tankokai.
　The subject of the lecture was "After Corona Now.
　Many of my old acquaintances were in the area, and I was grateful to have the opportunity to speak to over 300 people.

　横浜ロイヤルパークホテル65階にあり、天空の茶室とも言われ、
　私の敬愛したデザイナー田中一光氏のデザインによるもので、命名もされている。
　実は30年前の秋、この茶室の初披露茶会があり田中一光先生が席主となり、
　招待客として伊住政和氏、内田繁氏、杉本貴志氏、12代中村宗哲氏などの茶美会のコアメンバーが集結したのだった。
　考えてみればその際に招かれた方々でこの世に生きているのは私だけなのかもしれない。
　6/21-6/26の横浜高島屋での個展のための内覧会を兼ねての茶話会で、席主を務めさせていただいたのだが、
　あの世から皆さんもいてくれた気がしたのだった。

　Located on the 65th floor of the Yokohama Royal Park Hotel, it is also known as the Tea Room in
　the Sky and was designed and named by Ikko Tanaka, a designer whom I greatly admire.
　In fact, 30 years ago in the fall, the tea room was unveiled for the first time with Ikko Tanaka as the host,
　and core members of the Sabine including Masakazu Izumi, Shigeru Uchida, Hiroshi Sugimoto,
　and the 12th generation Sotetsu Nakamura, gathered as invited guests.
　Come to think of it, I may be the only person alive today who was invited to that event.
　Today, I was the host of the tea party that served as a preview for my solo exhibition at the
　Yokohama Takashimaya from June 21 to 26, and I felt as if everyone was there from the other side of the heaven

　恩賜賞・日本芸術院賞受賞を記念した個展が終了した。
　広い会場を出版したばかりの「うつわの哲学」のストーリーに基づき、伝統、現代、未来をの3部に分けて構成した。
　精度を高めた窯変天目茶盌や木の葉天目茶盌。そして新境地の漆喰絵画は、これから海外で発表していく予定。
　盛況なうちに幕を閉じます。それも支えてくれている人々のお陰です。多くのご来場を賜りありがとうございました。

　The solo exhibition commemorating the Imperial Prize and the Japan Art Academy Prize has ended.
　The spacious venue was divided into three parts: traditional, contemporary, and future, based on the
　story of my published philosophy of depression.
　The exhibition included kiln-formed teabowls and wood-leaf teabowls of enhanced precision,
　as well as plaster paintings of a new style.
　And plaster paintings, a new works, will be exhibited overseas in the future.
　The exhibition will end with a great success.. I would like to thank all the people who have supported me.

　He met a wonderful woman (Ms. Miki Yokoyama) and the day has come for us to become a family!
　Over 300 people gathered in Kanazawa, including Mr. and Mrs. Toshisuke Maeda, the 18th generation
　of the Maeda family, the Urasenke family, and the 18th generation of Mr.Raku Kichizaemon.
　The party started at 5:00 p.m. with a song by Tatsuya Ishii, and ended after 10:00 p.m. with a variety of performances.

　裏千家玄室大宗匠が我が家を訪問された。
　100歳になられても全てが聡明で、オーラも増すばかり。
　有り難いことに百寿を記念した茶盌を制作していただいた。

　Urasenke Great Grand Tea Master (Daisosyo) Sen Genshitsu visited our home.
　Even at 100 years old, Daisosyo is still very wise and his aura has only increased.
　Thankfully, he made several tea bowls to commemorate his 100th birthday.

　

　ベトナムの国家的英雄画家、グェン ファン チャン(1892-1984）の魂を訪ねる旅をした。
　ハノイから飛行機でフエまで飛行機で90分。
　フエから電車でハティンまで電車で８時間。
　ハティンからハノイまで車で９時間。1500キロに及ぶ移動だった。
　ベトナム国営放送の取材を受け、山田滝男 在ベトナム日本国大使の公邸に招かれ、全てを報告させていただいた。

　I traveled in Vietnam and moved about 1500 km for Nguyen Phan Chanh (1892-1984）,
　Vietnam's national hero painter.
　I was interviewed by the Vietnam National Broadcasting and invited to the official residence of the Japanese
　Ambassador to Vietnam, Mr. Takio Yamada,
　to report the whole story.

　そして、ベトナムへ取材旅行に行ってきます。

　ニューヨークで行われている第19回日米陶芸展。このコンベを25年ほど前から審査してきた。
　会場に入った瞬間、私の魂に何故か共鳴してきた作品があった。結果、その作品が最高賞となった。
　受賞者は米国で活動する若き台湾人だった。
　台湾には、張清淵という私の弟のような存在の作家がいる。
　その彼が教えた学生が、今は指導者となって今回の受賞者に教えているそうなのだ。
　時の流れに驚くばかりだ。考えてみれば私も64歳。当然のことなのかもしれない。

　I have been judging the Japan-U.S. Ceramic Competition in New York for 25 years.
　The moment I entered the exhibition room there was a work that resonated with my soul.
　As a result, that work was awarded the highest prize.
　The winner was a young Taiwanese working in the United States.
　In Taiwan, there is a artist named Chang Ching-yuan, who is like a younger brother to me.
　The one student he taught is now professor and teaching to this young winner of this competition.
　I am amazed at the passage of time. Come to think of it, I am 64 years old. Perhaps it is only natural.

　


　友人でもある赤松武 (特命全権大使・国際民間航空機関日本政府代表部常駐代表)に招かれモントリオールを訪れた。
　12日夜は、齊藤淳 在モントリオール日本国総領事が公邸で夕食会を催してくれた。
　13日は、モントリオール美術館を表敬。キュレーターでもあるローラ ビィーゴ氏からの説明で、
　大樋焼4代をはじめとした歴代の作品が10点以上も所蔵されていることが確認された。
　100年以上も前にこれらの作品が、フランス文化が漂うモントリオールの地に度り、
　そして今私が手にしたことは奇跡とも言えるのではないだろうか。

　I was invited to Montreal by my friend Takeshi Akamatsu,) Ambassador Permanent Representative of Japan to Montreal.
　On the evening of the 12th, Mr. Jun Saito, Consul General of Japan in Montreal, hosted a dinner party at his official residence.
　On the 13th, visit to the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts. Laura Vigo, curator of the museum,
　confirmed that the museum has at least 10 pieces of Ohi generation works from the past in its collection.
　It is a miracle that these pieces came to Montreal more than 100 years ago and have been preserved to this day.

　今日の政府発表で、第9回日展に出品した「モニュメントクリフ」によって私が受賞することが決まった。
　日本芸術院からこの知らせを受けたのは2月21日。
　私は仕事でシンガポールに長男・祐希といて、彼の誕生日でもあった。
　そして、5年前の同じ日は、愛する娘と互いの仕事で偶然にもシンガポールにいた。
　残念ながらその歳に娘は亡くなってしまったのだが、、、
　授賞式は，天皇皇后両陛下の行幸啓を仰ぐことになっている。
　人生の中でこんな栄誉ある賞を受けれることは、夢のような気がする。
　そして、天から娘が見守ってくれているに違いない。

　Today the government announced that I will receive an award for "Monument Cliff," which I exhibited at the 9th Nitten.
　I received this news from the Japan Art Academy on February 21.
　I was in Singapore on business with my oldest son Yuki, and it was also his birthday.
　On the same day five years ago, my beloved daughter and I happened to be in Singapore for mutual business. Unfortunately, my daughter passed away at that age,
　The award ceremony is to be attended by Their Majesties the Emperor and Empress of Japan.
　It feels like a dream come true to receive such a prestigious award in my life. And my daughter must be watching over me from heaven.

　「隆茗会」は加賀藩に仕えた裏千家4代 仙叟宗室居士の遺徳を偲ぶ会で、
　金沢の仙叟居士の菩提寺である月心寺にて毎月懸釜が行われてきている。
　仙叟からの導きによってはじまった大樋焼。
　11代当主として席主を務め、その恩恵に感謝を捧げた茶会には、全国から350人の参列者があった。
　朝7時から夕方5時まで14席の茶席を座り通したことで、私の膝は完全にロック状態だったが、
　このような機会を得たこと、そして多くの客人に喜んでいただけたことで、心地良い疲れでもあった。

　The "Ryumeikai" is a memorial service for the legacy of the fourth generation Urasenke master Senso,
　who served the Kaga clan (Ishikawa Prefecture), and has been held at Gesshinji-temple in Kanazawa.
　Ohi Chozaemon was started under the guidance of Senso since 1666.
　As the 11th head of the my family, I served as the host of tea ceremonies and 350 people from all over
　Japan attended the tea ceremony to express my gratitude for the blessings I had bestowed upon them.
　My knees were in lockdown after sitting through 14 tea ceremonies from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.,
　but it was a pleasant exhaustion to have had this opportunity and to have pleased so many guests.

　
　

　5年前、シンガポールで個展をした際、娘が偶然にも仕事で滞在しており本当に嬉しかった。
　今日は長男・祐希の誕生日。本来なら彼は、フィアンセと一緒にいたかっただろうが、残念ながら私といる。
　今この地で、私もこれまで経験したことのない大きなプロジェクトを息子と共に挑んでいる。
　シンガポールで、娘の応援してくれる声が聞こえてくる。幸せなことかもしれない。
　娘にも、何事にも感謝しなければ！

　Five years ago, when I had a exhibition in Singapore, my daughter happened to her business stay with me.
　Today is my eldest son, Yuki's birthday.
　Probably he would wanted to be with his fiancée, but unfortunately he is with me.
　I am now participating in a big project with him here.It is also the first job for my oldest son and me.
　I can hear my daughter's supportive voice.
　It could be a blessing. I must say thank you to everyone.

　
　


　金沢東急ホテルのディナーイベントをプロデュースさせていただいた。
　ドレスコードはフォーマルウェア。
　当初80名の企画だったのだが、地元金沢だけではなく全国から152人のお客様の参加となった。
　車寄せから会場までは赤絨毯が敷かれ、洒落た空間がお客様を待ち受ける。
　総料理長が挑戦したのは、加賀料理をフランス、中華、和食などへの再構成で、それらの料理のためにソムリエは、
　ワインとのコラボレーションを提案し、そこにデザートと抹茶や薬草茶も加わる。
　場面ごとに料理長、ソムリエ、パティシエなどが登場して、私がその都度にインタビューをもさせていただいた。
　そしてはじまりとエンディングでは、バイオリン奏者が最後の一人のお客様まで演奏を続けてくれた。
　参加した方々の笑顔、ホテルスタッフ皆んなが一丸となれた笑顔は感動的でもあった。
　プロデュースさせていただいて本当に幸せだった。
　良い機会を与えていただきありがとうございました。

　I was able to produce a dinner event for Kanazawa Tokyu Hotel.
　The dress code is formal wear. Initially, it was planned for 80 people, but it became 152 customers from
　all over the country, not just my hometown of Kanazawa.
　A red carpet is spread from the carriage porch to the venue, and a stylish space awaits customers.
　The executive chef's challenge was to reconfigure Kaga cuisine into French, Chinese, and Japanese dishes,
　and for those dishes, the sommelier proposed a collaboration with wine, along with dessert, matcha, and herbal tea.
　For each scene, the head chef, sommelier, pastry chef, etc. appeared, and I had the opportunity to interview them each time.
　And at the beginning and ending, the violinist continued playing until the last customer.
　The smiles of the participants and the smiles of all the hotel staff were very moving.
　I was really happy to be able to produce it. Thank you for giving me a good opportunity.

　


　今日は5回にわたる授業の最終日。
　毎年、世界各国から集まってくる学生達に日本文化を教えている。
　茶道体験、陶芸は造ることから窯炊きまで体験、そしてそれらを展覧会として発表する。
　これらの授業は全て英語で行うことになっている。
　いずれ彼らには帰国する時がやってくる。
　いつになっても自らが造った作品を見れば、金沢で過ごした日々を思い出すことであろう。

　Today is the last day of the five classes.
　Every year, I have taught Japanese culture to students from all over the world.
　Students experience the tea ceremony,
　making pots and kiln firing, and present these experiences in an exhibition. All of these classes are conducted in English.
　They will eventually return to their home countries.
　When they see the works they created that will remember their days in Kanazawa.

　私が2年半かけて執筆した「うつわの哲学」がロバート•キャンベルさん共に全国に紹介されました。
　初めて出版した本なのに、夢のような展開に驚いております。
　これからも、美術の領域を幅広く捉えながら、その考えを愛する街である金沢から、全国そして世界へと発信していきたいと思っております。

　Philosophy of Utsuwa," which I spent two and a half years writing
　It was introduced nationwide by both Dr.Robert Campbell and myself.
　I am surprised at this dreamlike development for my first published book.
　I intend to continue to work with a broad perspective on the world of art.
　I would like to continue to broaden my view of the field of arts and disseminate my ideas from Kanazawa,
　the city I love, to the rest of the country and the world.

　1968年に設立されたこの協会は、石川県勤労者美術展を主催してきている。
　昨年から私が会長となり、第72回展が金沢21世紀美術館で開催された。
　本日、日本画、洋画、写真、書道、工芸、それぞれの分野からの厚生労働大臣賞と石川県知事賞の受賞者を伴い、
　馳浩石川県知事へ表敬訪問を行なった。
　受賞者には、大きな励みになったことであろう。

　父が50年にわたり会長を務めてきたこの協会を引き継ぎ、より発展できるように誠心誠意で臨んでいきたいと思っている。

　Founded in 1968, this association has sponsored the Ishikawa Workers' Art Exhibition.
　Last year I became the president and the 72nd exhibition was held at Kanazawa 21st Century Museum.
　I officially visited to Ishikawa pref. Governor Hase Hiroshi with the winners of the Minister of Health,
　Labor and Welfare Award and the Ishikawa Governor's Award in the fields of Japanese-style painting,
　Oil painting, photography, calligraphy, and crafts.
　The visit must have been a great encouragement to the award winners.

　I would like to take over this association, of which my father has been the president for oner 50 years,
　and I would like to make a sincere effort to further development.

　

　4日前から私の名刺入れが見つからない。
　オリジナルでとても気に入っていたのに。
　会食場所、立ち寄った所、全部問い合わせた、、、、、
　普段使っているバックの中をひっくり返しては、何度も何度も探した。
　今日の朝、新しいものを買うことを決意したのだが、
　普段使っているバックをもう一度開いてみた。
　すると探していた名刺入れが当たり前のようにあった。
　本当に不思議なのだが、戻ってきてくれてありがとう。

　I can't find my business card case for 4 days now.
　It was original and I liked it very much.
　I inquired about all the places I had dinner places, I stopped at, everything 、、、、、
　I turned it over and over in my daily regular bag and looked for it again and again.
　I made up my mind this morning to buy a new one.
　I opened my regular bag again.
　Then the business card case I was looking for was there, as it should be.

　1973年マニラ生まれのスーパースターアーティスト。常夏の地から冬の金沢まで会いに来てくれた。
　彼の国は、かってはスペインや米国の植民地となり、また日本に占領された時代もある。
　そんな歴史的背景を捉えながら独自の芸術性にチャレンジし続けている。
　ほぼ1日、様々な会話をさせていただいたが、
　作品も人柄も超一流だった。
　彼は、普段はあまり人とは積極的に話さないらしいのだが、「今度は、私の工房で制作する」そう言い残して去っていった。

　A superstar artist born in Manila in 1973. He came to see me from the land of perpetual summer to Kanazawa in winter.
　His country was once colonized by Spain and the United States, and was once occupied by Japan.
　He continues to challenge his unique artistry while capturing such a historical background.
　For almost a day, we had various conversations, I could respect his work and personality that was beautiful.
　It seems that he usually doesn't actively talk to people, but he said, "in near future, let me make
　work in your studio," and left.

　高校、大学と学んだ玉川学園。その創始者であった小原國芳先生が残してくれた言葉だ。
　この言葉の意味が、今、何故か心に響いてくる。美術に身をおく自分を常に原点に導いてくれている。
